I have always wondered secretly to myself and now am sharing it with everyone, how the people at CA get away with smoking Cuban cigars. I mean they clearly state that they are in New York and they are smoking a cuban in several of their videos.

Illegal or is there some loophole. This is really just for my own stupid curiousity..

Thanks and Gig'Em.

I believe that there are specific requirements that they meet regarding scientific research and/or journalistic reporting.

Of course, I could be completely wrong.

Be that as it may, technically an American is prohibited from smoking a CC no matter where they are.

I know there are alot of people on these forums who live in the states that buy and smoke Cubans, which is no different than the CA people buying them and vertically tasting them.

If you really want some Cuban Cigars, go to Washington, DC and many Senators and House Representatives have them also.

Isn't it illegal for a US citizen to trade with Cuba anywhere? So, even if you're on that cruise, you should technically not buy a CC, correct?

I just always assumed they were all pre-embargo. Wink

If you're in London, you're outside the jurisdiction of the courts.

It is against the law for a US citizen to aid and abet the enemy anywhere.

Nice in theory, but try to get them into court, and then providing ample evidence to convict...it's not a practical prosecution.

...a sales receipt/charge card transaction is all that is needed for evidence to try the suspect in a US court.
