One of the better recent issues. Glad to see the bit on little Havana. Now the negative. Do we realy need to read more "confesions of a weekend golfer" ? what is this part 52 or something like that? Marvin is runnung neck n neck with the Friday the 13th movies. Hey, that's a good idea. Marvin vs Jason.

I think this is a little self-indulgent myself but at the same time, as Doc said, Cigar Aficionado really does reflect the personalities of the people who run it.
It's no different than reading -- or not reading -- George Will for his opinions on politics or David E. Davis for stories about what it's like driving his favorite cars or Art Dudley for his notes on listening to high-end stereo equipment.
I'll sit around all Saturday afternoon and listen to guys talk about where they played golf that week -- and the courses they play and the people they play with are not nearly as interesting as the ones Marvin does. So looking at it from that perspective, I'm sure that there are avid golfers who look forward to Marvin's pieces.
I'm assuming the February issues are shipped and received already? If that's the case, I need to call CA to find out where my copy is! Didn't get the last issue either and thought it might just be lost in the mail.

I've been a subscriber since 1993 and my issues have always come late. Even people in my area seem to get them a week before me. I read the entire issue last night cover to cover already so chances are, this one will stay in the plastic when it finally arrives just as they all seem to. I really should cancel my subscription but I have every issue since #1 and I like supporting the magazine.
My friend who owns the local Tinderbox is going to Miami next week as guests of Ernesto Padilla. It was nice to read the article on Calle Ocho. They are going to tour the cigar stores and factorys.
