I have always used my cigar cedar boxes for building things like bird feeders, bird houses, tea box holders, etc.
The, ususally, cedar cigar box is great for taking apart and then using the material for building something useful.
I'm curious if anyone else does this and what do you build? I need some new ideas. My wife is complaing about my having too many bird houses and feeders hanging in the trees.
Let me hear your ideas and thanks in advance.

Great! I already have two new ideas for my cigar boxes. They also make a pragmatic sense.
Another question: I generall destroy more cedar cigar boxes than I keep. I destroy them by beating them apart with a ball peen hammer and small scredriver. Most cedar cigar boxes appear to be glued together. I seldom see small nails or staples in their constructin. Do you think I could steam them apart without bending or wetting the cedar too much?

kechke, That's agood idea. I will use what I call an "Xacto" knife, which is used for cutting fine lines in balsa wood, picture framing cropping, etc.
Thanks
