I thought this was interesting:

Cigarette butts were 1st at 1.97M

Cigars were 8th on the list with 325,893.

I don't live near a beach but I will admit when I go, I have thrown it in the weeds once it is snuffed out. I guess I figured it was all natural (no filters like cigs-unless I am smoking a black and mild..yuck!) so what was the big deal.

This will make me plan ahead to put it in a bottle or can next time.

Have a good day everyone and enjoy the beaches this summer. I know I can't wait until I am there again!

I have not been to the beach in years.

When I did go I would "field strip" my cigarettes. You would never find as much as a grain of dust from my smokes.

As for cigars, I never enjoyed them at the beach because the wind made them smoke too poorly.

6 million pounds of trash. One day at one beach. Where? Copacabana, Ipanema?

Quality does not occur by chance. It is the result of intelligent activities.

People think the beach is their very big personal ash tray. I've picked up filters that looked like they were 20 years old.

QM,
It wasn't one beach, it was 33,000 miles of beach worldwide.
