Hey guys. It's pretty simple to see how various methods work for keeping the humidity just right for your liking, but what about temperature. How do you guys keep the right temperature. Just before I turned the A/C on my humidor was too warm so I took it downstairs in the basement. I sure that would happen again in the winter when the heat is on. Please share your methods. Also, I'd like to build a cooled humidor. Does anyone know where I can get my hands on a cooling unit. Thanks for now, Big Ricky

There is no perfect answer. Locate your humidor(s) in the room that has the most balanced temperature. Meaning not as much ups and downs.

I have my humidors in a room that has both central heat as well as air conditioning. It's my office and so it is usually kept at around 70 degrees give or take 2 degrees each way.

I have no A/C (temperature here rarely goes above 85F more the 20 days a year). But since it does get warmer than 70 most of the time in summer, and occasionally the basement goes higher than 75, I have created an "emergency" temperature controlled space to put my humidor in.
I use a very large cooler (Coleman type), put my humidor at one end and medium Ice-Paks on the other (on a clean, dry cotton towel to absord excess humidity from Ice-Paks) . A thermometer-hygrometer in the middle.
You simply have to adjust the number of medium Ice-Paks required to have the right temperature in the humi and rotate them regularly (the Ice-Paks).
Other advantage : the humidity in the cooler will be very low.
