People getting their books signed spoke of Mr Clinton's intelligence, charisma, eloquence and worldliness.

Mr. Clinton was also interviewed by Peter Mansbridge of the CBC. An enjoyable, interesting discussion with a fascinating person.

They are old enough to make their own choices. One should not & cannot prevent people from exercising their own freedom. Smile

As for politically correct "sexual morality" issues. Some people have prudish, puritanical and retrograde attititudes towards sex. Ideas like that belong in Saudi Arabia, Pakistan or Iran.

I agree Q. . .although i wasn't the biggest fan of Clinton's politics this issue of 'sex' is BS. So the dude likes to fool around, who doesn't. Sure i think it sucks he cheated on his wife, but about half the world does that.

Sheesh...what happened to people's sense of humour...next thing you know we can't make "Hugh Grant buying a new Hummer" jokes...I may never attempt humor again... Roll Eyes

I'm fed up with Bill Clinton and his sanctimonious apologists...8 years was enough of this guy and his slickness, no matter what his intelligence and charisma were...the guy underachieved relative to his talents, that is his legacy.... Frown

O Man

I did not bring up anyone's sex life.

I simply responded to what you brought up.

I realize that some of us have a more sophisticated, mature and permissive attitude toward these things than others do.

I don't giggle when I see a tit. I am not offended when I find out that a coworker is boffing another coworker. I am not surprised.

People do what they can to amuse themselves in this short life that we lead.

Did you see the movie "Chocolate"? If not rent it.
It is with Johnny Depp and Juliette Binoche where the mayor of a French town is tyranically puritannical with a "don't do this and don't do that" way of thought. The chocolate maker (Binoche's character) is ostracized because she is making things that give pleasure and because she is a single mother. The visiting boat travelliing Gypsy (Depp's character) is ostracized because he is a gypsy (and they like to dance and party both forbidden activities in this French village).
Now this is an American film set in France. It is a parable about the path to happiness in view of repression and liberty.
Finally the town priest breaks the cycle of repression and also helps the mayor deal with the pain of having lost his wife (she had left him for parts unknown).

What is my point.
Aren't some of you anti-sex people kind of young to be that way????
Is that what religion and politics are doing to you????

If you guys love Slick Willie so much then you keep him! As far as religion, politics and morality...I see no problem with it.

Relax man, the guy was just goofin on Bubba. No need for sexual morality tirade. Every late night talk show host has made similar jokes about him.

On another note, if the guy was so hard up, I would have preferred he got a high class hooker...just anyone without regular access to the white house.

I don't think having sex with a cigar or in the Oval Office is really the problem most people have (ah, maybe some people). I really have 2 problems with this:

1) Cheating on your wife
2) Lying about it afterwards IN A COURT OF LAW.

I'm pretty sure neither of these fall within your defintion of "prudish, puritanical and retrograde attititudes towards sex". If they do, then you have some misconseptions about what sex is Big Grin.

While I think #1 is just bad (and don't say it's OK because others do it, that's just the world's worst argument), I think #2 is VERY tricky. Perhpas it's not fair of me, but I think those that are in positions of power need to be held to a higher standard, if you want the "privledges" that come with power, be prepared for the down-side as well.

I think it is horrible that a sitting president of the US would break the law in such a serious manner (serious compared to, say speeding, obviously less serious than murder). I'm pretty sure that when you're sworn in you promise to "uphold the laws of the US" or something of that nature. Hard to uphold them when you're breaking them.

Again, the issue is not sex, the issue is the things that went on around it.

"I realize that some of us have a more sophisticated, mature and permissive attitude toward these things than others do."

Wow, talk about holier than thou attitude.
It's not I disagree or in my view no... it's my way of seeing things is more mature and permissive. Wow! I guess that's why you like clinton so much. You're both equally arrogant and ego-driven.

I don't think anyone cares about his sexual likes/dislikes... it's the issue of honesty, ethics, and upholding certain values and morals we expect our leader to display and uphold.

Again, you're too busy making personal comments to see the point in others arguments..

I love you man! The reason President Clinton lied about his affair to the country, is the same reason you or I would lie about the affair. Fear of getting your balls cut off while you sleep. I would be 10 times more afraid of Hilary than of anything anybody else could do to me! And if anyone thinks that he was the first, or last, President to take a little "piece" on the oval office desk, you are an ignorant, ugly, virgin male. Just my opinion, I could be wrong, NOT!

He was not the first President to have action on the side. But he was the first to get caught hoggin...and every guy should be ashamed of that, when called on it.

I stand with the right, but I pick on them too...why can't you pick on the left? Confused

Ronald Reagan would never take his jacket off in the Oval Office, and Clinton is shoving cigars up some fatty's slit there. That's a far drop.

Lie about an afair...sure, if you're immoral enough to cheat in the first place I would EXPECT you to lie about it. To do it IN A COURT OF LAW is taking it to another level.

James, why don't you go out and commit murder. Lot's of other people have done it so it must be OK!

JFK did it so it's OK for Clinton to do it (yes, I know you didn't use JFK as a specific example, but I'm using him) Do you really argue that way? You aren't going to win an argument with anyone who has a grade-school level education or better with arguments like that.

I also don't understand why, if someone thinks president's don't have a little on the side that makes the person ugly or ignorant or a virgin. Niave? Sure, that I'll buy. However I would like to point out that you have no ability to put together a sensible argument and resort to name calling. I expect more from the posters here.

It's more sophisticated to cheat on your wife, demean and humiliate her? It's more mature to them lie about it to a judge under oath? Either you or your country are f*#!ed up pal!

No, we just aren't as sophisticated as you. I guess when I got married and vowed to my wife to be faithful I meant it. Had I known I would unsophisticated by doing that....Wait, I just remembered. I'm not French. So my word, my pledge actually means something.

I'll just stay unsophisticated and teach my kids to be the same.
