Quality does not occur by chance. It is the result of intelligent activities.

QM - these are good everyday smokes imho. Not a serious smoke but a good alternative from time to time. The Partagas is more flavorful than the RyJ but never tried the RA. PS, have you tries the HU Regalias?

2005 Partagás (medium bodied) and RyJ (mild) are handmade and a very good value. RA is mm, some of them suffer from draw problems sometimes.

Upmann Regalias are good and priced lower than MF`s. HU`s in all sizes are by and large a better smoke than all other marques and deliver a better bang for the buck. There are 2 versions of the Regalias -a cello version and the naked smoke. The cello is awesome.

Sorry to dig this old thread up but what exactly does Mille Fleurs mean when it comes to cigars? I noticed that many different marcas have lines of this name and, without going into too much detail, they are often drastically lower in price compared with other lines of the same brand. Of course I figure that this means they are in some way lower in quality as you pay for what you get but what exactly how or what is it that makes a cigar a "mille fleurs"?

Mille Fleurs are generally machine made/hand finished.

But when the Cubans say "machine made" they don't mean it in the same way that, say, a Phillies is machine made.

Mille Fleurs are long filler cigars and the rollers use a small mechanical rolling aid to help form the bunch. They then apply the binder and wrapper by hand. All of the boxes of Partagas Mille Fleurs I've had are stamped with the "Totalamente a mano" legend on the bottom of the boxes (totally hand made), but on the sides you'll see "Made by Hand," which is Cuban code for machine made/hand finishd product.

The Partagas Mille Fleur is a great PC for under $100 a box. I smoke them all the time.

I agree with all: The Partagas MF is the best compared with the others. I tried several MF and found out the Partagas to be more full-body and complex. Also improve very nice with age.
The RyJ, for example, don´t have that punch when young and with age gets very mild.

Thanks very much EC, I am in the process of putting together an order with a couple friends, there were some samplers that we were considering but unfortunately I do not want to say what exactly was included as that type of post seems to anger people by implicitly giving away the source, but your info was very helpful.
