I was offerred a box of H Upmann Connoisseurs from 2003 but warned that the wrapper is green.

Is this something I should avoid for more than just asthetic reasons?

"Green" can mean many things. It can, of course, refer to color, but not that the color is actually, 'green' per se...rather, a very light beige. It can also mean that the wrappers are simply ugly...usually referring to an ugly beige color...not dark. It can also mean that the cigars are too young...not properly cured.

The wrapper's influence on a cigar can be significant, but not relative to color...color is up to the preference of the smoker.

The best box of PSD4s I've ever smoked had greenish/tan wrappers.

That's great insite. I'm also going to assume that "chickenhawk" stands for "tonylucci", right?

I thought the 1's were dark and the 4's were light. They're probably legit if you liked them.

And here all along I thought Montecristo #'s 1 through 5 meant different SIZES. And it's actually different wrapper colors? I have so much to learn....LOL.

BTW, those PSD1 EL's are fantastic with those super light-colored wrappers, aren't they?

Better beautiful than perfect

Some of the best cigars I have ever smoked had the olive hued wrappers. Some examples are 1993 Bolivar Lonsdales, 1994 Quai D'Orsay grand coronas, 1999 Bolivar Corona Extras.

I absolutely agree with The Master. Dark wrappers are overrated.
