I saw the number next to Marty's post and I was shocked. Are we that many? If we are, I think we deserve a better Forum (I'm not talking about the looks mr Admin). So to anyone, please do your best to convince any veterans who have decided to boycott this forum in the past (for many reasons right or wrong) to come back and keep posting. I don't think we can ignore the interest of so many people to discuss their views. So please give it a second chance. Let's make the forum more active.

Any comments are welcome...

Many of the vets who used to post here that I know would NEVER come back here. They've found a new home that they like better and have an active voice in helping to run it. And more importantly their contributions are encouraged and welcomed. Something they never really felt here. Bottom line, some people like this place which is fine. Some people have moved on to what they consider to be much greener pastures and are much happier where they've wound up.

And BTW the 23,000 next to that thread represents the # of views for that thread... not the # of members registered here.

Alot of the gone guys would share info, it is true, but 1/2 of the crap they would post was crude, rude, vulgar and antagonistic. If you really want to rub elbows with them, you have only to surf on over to their new home. For the love of God, please do not wish any of them back here. What yu see here today is the result of alot of long-needed control and attention by the admin people, and alot of regular posters taking a stand for what they believe the CA forum should be about. If it is too boring in it's newest form, that should also steer you away from here. But asking it go back to the way it used to be is a warped-a$$ sense of nostalgia. It's like asking to go back the cigar boom because you miss all the neat new brands. IMO

To be totally forthcoming here, I expect AND respect alot of opinions slanting the other way. I am not the one controlling the forum, but I will click the triangle in a heartbeat if I sniff out an insurgent. Because THAT is how it should always be done. If the persons posts and replies can stand up to that test, then by all means, my bad. But to answer an embedded question, if you want life in the forum, inject some of your own. I would LOVE to hear about people's impressions of cigars they just got, I love to give reccomendations to all who ask for them, and if someone wants an opinion on a vendor, I give it up right away. You may see my name alot around here, and that is not because I like the way it looks in print. It is because I have an opinion, I share it, and I ask for and respect the opionions of others.
Reference my Part. Presidentes post. Believe me, I don't like logging on and seeing the same posts every day either, but the very LAST thing I connect to that is the need for all of the old guys to come back. Besides, they drop in all the time under different names than you are used to. Mostly, they just say things that are sarcastic in a way that is just mild enough not to get deleted by admin. I will do everything I can to post interesting stuff. And if you disagree, that is cool. Lots of people do.
