Hello All,

I was wondering how many samplers you more seasoned Aficionados buy and smoke before you actually buy a box.

I bought singles of potential candidates for my next box purchases on Saturday...didn't know if one is enough or not.

- San Cristobal la Punta (never tried this marca)
- SLR Regios (have tried the SLR A)
- Punch Punch (Have already had one that I actually loved, but that was long ago)
- Montecristo Sublimes 2008 LE (aching for a box of 10)

Thanks a lot.

usually a fiver... or atleast a 3pack. For me, I have to give it a 3 strike rule.

Actually I had a monte sublimes 08... they were smoking really well. Aching for a box as well.

I've smoked only 1 and enjoyed it enough to buy a box especially if it's not that expensive. On the other end, I usually try to smoke 2-3 before I decide the cigar is not for me. But even that can be misleading, and sometimes it's worth to revisit.

I usually have to get well into a box before I decide if I like a cigar. The ones I don't like, I give to one of the two sons, they smoke anything when is free.

Sometimes you gotta just pull the trigger and buy an entire box, if the price is right, anyway. Wink

Actually my first cuban I've ever smoked was a Monte No. 4 from my first box and I then bought a box of PSD 4's all based on recommendation's on this board and without every trying them.

I haven't been let down by you guys yet!

I bought a 5er of Siglo III but that's just for cost reasons, not for I didn't want a box.

I just bought a box of BRC's without ever trying one. I have a lot of confidence in my purchase, though.

If one's good I pull the trigger, but if it's not I'll revist it in a few months (after 2 or 3 'bad' ones it's a write-off). I have also bought a box without sampling as well...

Great question

Being fairly new to CC, I have bought 70 singles @ qty 2 of each one to test

I then rate them on my scale and anything over 90, I would buy a box, anything below 90, I would try again down the road but not buy a box yet

My goal is to buy boxes of cigars I like, cheaper and more consistency is my goal

I figured qty 2 of each one should give me a good idea of the flavor I am looking for

Just my method

I'm compulsive, so every box I own was bought blind.

I also bought a box of Monte #4's without ever smoking one. I had only smoked one or two CC's prior to that. I trusted what the experienced guys here post. And I've not been disappointed yet either.

i've only bought one box of NC's blindly and I was disappointed. CC's I blindly buy since I can't sample them easily.
