Could someone please tell me what a "cabron" is? I hear George Lopez say it all the time but I asked a PuertoRican friend what is means and all she would say is that it was a bad word but that it had a different meaning in Mexican Spanish.

in fact, I prefer cuban cofee to Kona... even the extra fancy beans...Blue mountain on the other hand (the real blue mountain) is just out-of-this-world good... nothing really comes close to that

Thomas Hinds in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, is a B&M that sells Cubita coffee. You can probably call them and order some. I don't know if they have the ground one - anyway, the whole bean is better quality anyway, as it hasn't lost any of its flavour. Buy a cheap coffe grinder - I bought a Melitta burr mill for $12 many years ago, and I still use it every day.

I usually buy roasted coffee beans directly from the roasters here in Toronto. You can try Dark City Coffee, Fresh Coffee Network or Green Beanery. I believe they have Cuban coffee beans.

No, they are definitely not the same quality. Cuban brands add sugar to the roasting process to enhance the flavor. Burn some sugar and add it to your regular coffee beans and you can get a close approximation.
If you enjoy straight forward coffee with carmelized sugar flavors, then you will probably like it. Brands like Cubita and some of the roasts from Brazil and Spain produce the same kind of stuff...which is really meant for a syrupy sweet espresso drink. I equate them to the flavored drinks at Charbucks. They are sweet and interesting to drink every now and then...but I wouldn't call it coffee.
If you are into high quality beans and fresh roasts, prepared properly from a press or high end espresso machine, then cuban coffee will taste lifeless and flat...not to mention the stuff you buy is pre-ground or months to yrs old.
