I have a box Cohiba Siglo VI LRE May 09 but it has the old seal on it with the red serial number (IO 709491). Everything about the box, inserts, cigars, triple cap, construction and color leads me to believe these are authentic. However, I know a new seal has been developed for 09 with the bar code yet this box doesn't have one although there have been statements regarding "early 09" boxes with the prior non-bar code seal.

That being said, do we know when we can expect EVERY box to have the new seal and should I be concerned regarding the fact that my May 09 box has the red serial number seal?

I have bought '09 boxes with the new seal and without the new seal. I figured that some were probably shipped out of cuba before they started putting on the new warranty seal.

i got other cigars not cohiba and from LCDH 09 and some of them werent with the new seal.
i guess if you trust the place that you bought the cigars from you need to enjoy them.

The unsatisfactory answer to your first question is: whenever all of the factories have run out of all of the old seals.

As to your second, I rely very little on seals, packaging, etc., and quite heavily on knowing my merchants and their reputations.
