Mum is in a tax haven in the Canaries and they usually have a reasonable choice of cigars. The Monty II's that she brought back last time round are now smoking well but I feel like giving the Cohiba brand a chance.

I'd like to give the Siglo's a go, so anyone have an opinion on that marque and any particular size (I to VI).

cheers

Noted.

Any general thoughts on the marque?

I went for a Hoyo de Monterey Epicure the other day to give a contrast to the earthy nature of the Montechristo II and I liked that. So the reviews of the Siglo (more coffee notes) tempted me.

Out of all the Siglos ive had, the IV was my favorite. its a great Corona Gorda. The VIs definitely need plenty of humi time from what ive seen.

Hmm... not the most patient in the humidor aging aspect of cigar culture (forfend me). So cigars usually only just get aquainted with the cigar tomb before they are unearthed. Thats what attracted me to the siglo reviews 'cos they smoke well early (so some say)

The III's, to me, are the most consistently good and the best value. Never had a bad one. Can't say that for the others.

I've tried the I, II and III. Believe it or not my favorite was the Sig I. It's a small smoke but packed with tasty creamy smoke. I would love to try the VI though, it seems to be the choice of many.

I second this POV.

The II and IV have been very good to me. I have some VI's that are still untouched. Anyone know when these might reach their peak ?

Siglo II

Make that 3 for the Sig 111. Very nice smoke.

Well. Mum got me the number I's in the end, and after being used to Monty II's they do look tiny. Beautifully packaged though. Snaffled one near enough as soon as I got the wrpping off the box but I guess they should soon settle down after a week or so in the humi.

Current box of IIIs not as nice as I remembered. Prefer the size of the III's but flavor-wise and based on recollection (none left in Ms. Elie Bleu) I vote for Siglo II - knowing I have not chosen to part with the necessary cake to try the V or VI's ever.
