Just wondering what your thoughts are on these two sticks as I have never had either.

I want to get a box of one of the two and am not sure as I really have not heard anything about the Partagas de Partagas No.1 and I have the opportunity to get my hands on them.(or the 898V's)

Please help me out on this one boys!

My personal preference is the 8-9-8V, as if I'm hankering for the classic Partagas profile, it is the truer to that of the two.

The PdP No. 1 is fine cigar in it's own right, but subtler than it's cousin.

Worth noting, in case you aren't aware, is that the PdP No. 1 was discontinued a couple of years ago. If getting stuff you won't be able to get in the future matters to you, that might be a factor.

That clears it up for me quite a bit. I was aware that the #1's were a discontinued smoke but that really didnt matter to me. I just really knew nothing about them. I most likely will go with a box of 898's off of your comparison.

I really liked the 898v. Never tried a PdP #1, but I bet there is a reason why they were discontinued.
