Hey everybody, I'm fairly new to cigars and very new to this site, so I thought I'd pop in and say hello.

I've also got a Cuban that I'm looking forward to smoking, and I was wondering what to expect from it. I've got a Romeo y Julieta #2 in an aluminum tube. It was given to me by my uncle, when I brought him one of my (comparatively inferior) cigars. What can I expect from this particular smoke? I enjoy the Dominican Romeos, but I've never tried a Cuban.

Thanks,
Frank

Welcome to the forum.

I can't help much on the RyJ #2 profile as I don't really like the brand. They have a lot of different vitolas, which is a bit confusing.

Welcome! It's been a few years since I had a Romeo Tubo, from what I can remember they were fairly mild (by Cuban standards) but enjoyable nonetheless. A great starting point for Cubans cigars. Make sure that it's stored well and you're good to go.

By the way, I've never had a Dominican Romeo, but they will be completely different. They have the same brand name, but that's all. Different tobacco, raised in completely different soil, weather conditions, different rollers, blenders etc. However it compares with the Dominican cigars that you've tried, it will be a completely different taste profile.

But hey, trying new stuff is one of the most enjoyable things about cigars!

I agree with HarryL. The RyJ#2 was a milder cigar. It was fairly tasty. I'm sure you'll enjoy!
