Ive tried the R+J Churchills recent production(since with new band) and find they are not the same tasty smoke as in the past. It is just me, or has increased production yielded on quality?
3 years ago, people said how good the cigars from 3 years before that were...in 3 years, people will say how good the cigars were from now. And on and on it goes.
Cigar quality has been absolutely outstanding over the past 6 - 7 years. Give them time and see what happens.

RyJ Churchills have always been high production and as a result they are not very consistent. I don't even buy these anymore because about 40% - 50% of them would be ordinary. Not necessarily in the same box but you'd get a good box and then you'd get a box that were just bland.
The new bands have only been out a couple of months, I believe. So, those cigars are VERY young. RyJ Churchills, typically, need at least 2 or 3 years before the complex flavors and aromas really begin coming to the forefront. Before then, they're really nothing special.

Indeed this is a cigar that most defiantly benefits from a long slumber. Much like a Monti #2, Partagas Lusi, HDM double corona. Just a few of the many that come to mind.
