Sounds counter-intuitive to most people here I'm sure. Interesting article though. Has anyone smoked a 'dry-aged' cigar that they know of?

i sure haven't..

i wonder what would happen to a dry cigar when you're trying to guillotine it's head... I'm sure the wrapper would crack... but then again, maybe those brits smoked their cigars with the caps still on Confused

It's interesting that it says that the cigar does not lose flavour when it dries out over time, just texture. Nothing about oils drying out etc.
I know there are people who would disagree with this.
I've never had one as far as I know.

I would think you wouldn't notice as much flavour in a dry smoke. I think the moisture helps to transport the flavour to the pallet.

I suspect that maybe they aged them dry and then once they were done aging, say after 5 years or so, transfered them to a humidor with a higher humidity.
