Hoping someone can help me to understand some terminology as I'm not knowledgeable enough to know what this means. I'm wondering what the difference is between a Siglo VI and a Siglo VI A.T. petaca. I've done some searches for info to try to find something, but have come up with nothing. I would appreciate anyone who would be willing to share their knowledge with me. Thanks!

The cigars are the same. Only difference is how they are sold. The AT is an aluminum tube. A petaca is a 3 pack or 5 pack...

I picked up 5 SIg VI AT's back in the summer and they are amazing. Two were really dark and aromatic and the one I sampled was delicious. 94/95

Cor: Steve, you have proven yourself to be a tremendous whack job.

The recent Cohiba Sig I in the 5x5 has been fantastic, a bit more firm than the corresponding Trinidad Reyes and always made with sweet mature tobacco flavor.

I oddly find a big difference in flavor between the cab of 25 and the A/T aluminum tube.
I find the later to be much more full bodied and flavorful.
My only guess is the way the cigar ages in the tube versus the Cab.
Either way they are a fantastic smoke enjoy!

I smoked my first Siglo VI out of a tube and then a few more from the same source and thought they were the best cigars I have smoked ...ever. I then smoked one in the LCDH from a box and was dissapointed. I also have ordered 2 seperate boxes from 2 different places and had the same ho hum experience.
I never thought about it but maybe I should try some more tubos.

Coincidence maybe? But night and day the tubos being much better.

FWIW I have also noticed a difference in Sig VI tube vs. non tube. I originally thought it might have been an issue of utilizing a small sample size so I asked a friend that has been smoking cigars 30+ years and he said that also was his experience.

justawalker55, sheep, gcman68...are you storing closed tubes in a humi and only opening them as you smoke; or are you opening the tubes and removing them from the tube so the cigar gets acclimated to the humi first?

Well, that answers my question and much more. Thanks! The Siglo VI is one that I've been eyeing in my search for a great smoke, but I was unsure about the A.T. petaca nomenclature. At one site I was viewing, the Siglo VI and the Siglo VI A.T. petaca had different ratings (I guess they were customer ratings?), so I thought there may be some difference in them. Apparently there is a perceived difference by some. If all goes as expected, I should have my chance to try these someday very soon.

Ah, the nomenclature. The first is the cigar itself (naked) in a cabinet of 25 or 10, the second is the cigar in a tube. A "petaca" is a cardboard pack of 3, or a pack of 3-packs (equalling 24 cigars or somesuch, all in aluminum tubes).

most presenations of 15, are actually 5x3T/A. the monte edmundo is a current 5x3 T/A that is very popular in our shop. the psp#2 also has a great 15ct T/A presentation. folks love the 3-packs of tubes.

im surprised i havent seem similar boxes for punch petit coronation or r&j #1. maybe they're available in the EU.

cheers
