I feel bad for you Brother...I'm trying to learn to tell the difference between real or fake CC. It's frustrating because of so make fakes. This is very sad.

Justin, soon you'll learn that you can't tell if a cigar is real by a couple of pictures. You might be able to tell a fake if the bands, box, whatever is really off, but you can never confirm they are real based solely on pictures.

Aren't Monte No2s' torpedo tips a little more pronounced than that normally? That's what came to my head at first sight.

tips schmips...hand rolled cigars have a natural variability in them. Tips, color, etc can be quite different one to another, but most boxes are packed with like looking cigars. If you get a box of 25 and they all look different, I'd be a bit suspicious. If they all looked the same, but your box as a whole looked different than my box, no big deal as long as length (absloutely) and ring gauge (mostly) were the same.

basing this reply solely on the fact that you have 2 other threads with pictures of blatant fakes and if you got these the same place as those then yea, these are fake...

Hard to tell my friend. i have gotten the same brands from multiple sources, and everything, including construction, bands & more importantly, taste has been consistant. Learn to recognize counterfeit bands from multiple internet sources. Try to recognize what the genuine bands look like. That one seems to be the first flag that should alert u. If bands look legit, then in all honesty, the only thing u have to go by is taste solely in itself.

BTW:
those look NOTHING like my monte #2s. those things are dsiplaying some major veinage. But even at that, doesn't really mean they are fakes. again, my Monte's look a lot more clean/smooth on the outer surface than those. i mean after all, it seems 2 out of your 3 look horrendous!!!! it may the pic/lighting, not sure, but they should be again, consistent.

good luck.

I've gotten monte's from two different sources. The bands on the PE's looked a little darker. I'm about 90% sure on both of the sources. So, either bands are not necessarily a sure thing, they're fake, or the (I guess) the bands could change color over time through aging.

By the way, is this true? Does the ink lighten up over time in a properly sun-shielded humi?

Hey man, good point. i was told by a couple of fellers on here thru personal e-amil, heck, even on the forum, that the shade of the labels may vary, even the cut, but i am talking about the lettering & the designs themselves on the label.

True enough. Either way, just smoke the dang thing. If you already paid for it, worrying about its authenticity is just going to make it less enjoyable.

hey Justin

take it from someone who started here, looking for verification only to find that I too had Fauxhibas. So here's what I did, follow the recommended "freezing process, to insure you don't contaminate your other sticks. Then toss them in the Humi

then let these fakes sit for a while and burn one of them. Did you enjoy it? if so, keep them, if not , let them sit longer. My experience has been that my fauxhibas are way better than "not having anything to smoke".

then if you want to learn more, hang around here for awhile , it won't take long to find what your looking for.

once you do, then all the hupla will come into perspective, and you'll find that relaxing with any smoke is the goal, CC's are just one of many options.

This is a fake Monte.

When it's this fake, you don't smoke it. If it's too close to call, smoke it!
