Hell yeah!

Ok I honestly did not think there would be that much difference. I thought really how much difference could there be a cigar is a cigar right?

Wrong.

I got a couple fine cubans from a friend here on the forum as part of the pay it forward deal, and the first one I tried out was a Partagas PSD4. WOW. SO much flavor. Creamy smooth. With NC's I usually have a funky after taste, but not at all with this one. Not just smooth, but bursting with flavor. Pepper, spice, woody, even a almost menthol taste without the freakiness of the menthol taste, just the cool crispness. Now I was feeling really buzzed after about 45 minutes, and was feeling nauseous too, but man oh man was it worth it.

I tried a 898 varnished as well and while ti was good it did not have as much flavor as the PSD4, but still the same kind of flavors but not as much, although not as strong.

I received a small 3 cigar sampler I ordered a couple weeks ago today, and I lit up a Monte #4. very nice too. Also not as much flavor as the PSD4, but very nice, and smooth.

I have a bolivar, and a RYJ too waiting, and might try the RYJ tonight. I also have a small sampler coming from another friend, and I'm really looking forward to it too.

Thanks guys.. you have cost me too much money already, and I can't go back to smoking my cheaper NC's without thinking they are just not nearly the smoke that is coming from Cuba.

I did not believe it till I tried it. Now I see the light..light colored full flavored smoke that is...

As another comment on the running argument that Muskrat and I got into today about aging cigars, I can tell you that the 898V is one of those cigars that definitely takes it's time in developing it's flavors...alot of time. Of course, when the cigar is part of a sampler and your stash is not so big, you just have to smoke it. Another comment is that the difference between cubans and non is most glaringly discovered when you try to go BACK. A flavorful NC can hold up to a C when tasted over a few days, but try smoking one of each with a friend and going back and forth, or try to go back to NC after a week or so of Cubans and the difference jumps up and down with it's hand up and goes "oo, oo, oo!"

I'm not selling!! No way! I get free Kohibas from owning this place. That and free romeo y hamlet, the gay alternative to RYJ's. too many perks.

Ahh a PSD4 one of my favorites - what a great smoke to intro into Cubans! If you can get hold of some, the PSD3 EL are Excellent!
