I don't hear too much about these. How are they? What's the flavor profile? How's the aging potential? I'm looking to get some stuff this winter to put away for a while and was thinking about these.

Of all the Cuban cigars I've smoked, these need the most age to shine. 01 & early 03 are great, 06 & 08 pretty bland. Flavor is traight tobacco with earthy overtones.
These are my favorite torp.; leathery with a touch of chocolate. After 2-3 years they really start to shine. I have a box from Nov 07 that is smoking quite well.

I prefer them young unlike a Monti #2 which i feel becomes great after 2-3 years. I find the Upmann to mild for long term aging. Anything over a year for me is like drinking flat soda.

Had my first one ever last night. Tasty. Very tasty. Needed age though, as a 2008 vintage. Had that "green" taste but it wasn't harsh and had lots of spice, strength and a little peppery leather. The "H. Upmann flavor" only made its appearance a few times throughout the smoke, but it didn't necessarily subtract from its overall flavor. Great aging potential IMO.
try to get some from 2007, they are excellent. Picked up 4 boxes on my last trip to Cuba and have no regrets. Medium to full bodied cigars, this batch is outstanding, they'll burn your fingers.
