I must say i was never a fan of the Edmundo. I remember when they were released a few years back. I was in Italy Rome to be exact when the first boxes rolled into LCDH. Blah i said to myself what a ho hum cigar. In fact i still have the box aging i have not revisited them since. So when someone offered me the Petit Edmundo.Well lets just say i was skeptical to say the least.
The wrapper was chocolate brown dark oily and without veins. The pre-light aroma was sweet nutty and woodsy. The cigar was packed but drew effortlessly. While still a young cigar the flavors were predominant and easy to separate. Unrefined but none the less loads of smoke great construction burn.
A medium to full body smoke loads of chocolate nuts woody taste.I think these should age rather well. In fact they kind of remind of a young Monti#2. All in all i would give this cigar an 85 out of a possible 100 points. I think that number would be in the 90's after these get a couple of more years of age on them.A very pleasant surprise indeed.

I also am starting to enjoy the petit edmundo better than the edmundo. You would think that it is the same cigar just a little shorter but I do find the construction better and the draw is perfect. Yesturday I had a bad experience with the edmundo so being that I have never had a problem with the petit, I think I like it better. I have a box of edmundos in my humidor so I hope those are better than the one I had yesterday.

I love the Pet Edmundo. THE DRAW IS ALWAYS A DREAM.
I have smoked a box of petite edmundo and the larger brother edmundo.
I always have the feeling that the pet. edmundo starts with the excitement right out of the gate...toasty, cocoa Montecristo taste.....while the Edmundo starts off rather slow and reserved until about the length of the Pet. Edmundo when it really takes off.
Maybe it's all in the mind?
Enjoy your smokes you all.

"You only have to spend $150 for a box of montecristo #4's? Holy crap, I got screwed in canada... I mean no vaseline, no kiss behind the ear, leave me high and dry screwed.
I just can't buy short smokes. OK, that's not right, my favorite cigars are the Monte 5 and the boli CJ. But to me it seems like I am paying for tobacco I am not going to smoke with the PE. I guess I need not man up and get a few boxes. BTW, the Edmundo DOES respond positively to aging, so crack them babies Sheephead. But then you know that.

Agreed. A box of Monti Edmundos from 2006 took over a year to come around, and now they are amazing smokes. While a box of Monti 1's I have remained the same, or are now slightly worse.
