i think my next box will be partagas 898V, followed by some SCDLH La Puntas, Boli PCs, and Epi 2s. Not sure when ill get around to buying em, but hopefully within the next few months.
ahhh the Partagás 898V... one must be in all decent humidor... you can´t beat them! I have to wait a lot in order that LCDH in Mexico get some boxes to me since for some reason they dont import them as basis anymore... is not that a shame?

I will wait till my next excursion to Cuba in the new year. The only box that I really want to get is CoRo, the other choices rely on what is available at various factory stores and LCDH shops.

Will be true that issue of "the LCDH´s and factories in Cuba are not selling well and only have singles but Partagas Factory and blah blah"...?

Excellent choice! I love them and they are getting better and better with age.
I've decided on a new box or two of the re-release of the Cohiba Piramide. They should arrive at my retailer next week, and so far, I've heard only good things about them.
BTW, I plan on storing one box in my onboard yacht humidor, and the other in my Ferrari's humidified glove box
With regard to the Cohiba Piramide EL, I was a little surprised to see cA's rating of it in the Cigar Insider:
PIRAMIDE EDICIÓN LIMITADA 2006 88 POINTS
A dark torpedo with some veins and an easy draw. Flavors are overwhelmingly woody, with leather and nutty notes. A slight sourness was noted on the finish. Body: Medium to Full
I remember that thread-- Viper, are you still out there to heap abuse upon us?
The Piramides look and smell awesome, but I'm trying to be disciplined. I may sample one to bring in the new year.

This rating doesn't surprise me at all...if the 2006 Cohiba Piramide EL's are the same or a very similar blend to the originals, anyway. When the original ones first came out they were anything but ready to smoke. In fact, some would say they sucked early on...myself included. After a year, they began to be somewhat approachable, but still nowhere near ready, and still a waste of money to smoke. However, at about 2-3 years they became a different cigar. Actually, the only Cohiba EL to this date that I thought actually tasted like a Cohiba. All of the other Cohiba EL's, IMO, just had that generic EL flavor. Now, that being said, I'm personally not gonna rush out and pay $30/stick for these, even if they are the same blend as the originals. If I want a Cohiba that tastes like a Cohiba I'd rather get an Esplendido for $20 or, even better, a CoRo for $12 or a Siglo III for about $10.
In fact a box of CoRo's may be my gift to myself this year.

I agree with you. They are smoking these cigars way too young.
The first Cohiba EL's I tried, did have a rather generic, sweetish, liquory flavor. However, the last one I smoked from the '04 box of Sublimes I bought a year or so ago, have really started to change for the better. Not so much the gummy, sweetie, smokey flavor they were last year, but much more Cohiba'ish', and way more complex, rich and intense than your average run of the mill Esplendido. I highly recommend a box of these to anyone who likes big, unique, complex, FULL bodied cigars. In 5 or 10 years, the Sublimes will be phenomenal. I only hope the EL piramides will do the same. The Sig VI is also a must try imo.
Are these the same cohiba EL's that james suckling wrote about in his atricle...called them "bombshells" if I remember right.
Any one smoke the cohibas from 06' that they thought were good now? I am sure they will all age well but I am looking for something to smoke now!!! *a little impatient*

I wouldn't worry about a box from '06 if you really want a Cohiba that smokes well now.
I recommend a box of Cohiba Sublimes. I don't think you should have too much trouble finding a box of these with at least a year or two on them.
I've never tried the "bombshell" Suckling smoked, but based on others reviews, I wouldn't call it a bombshell, but rather a good cigar that needs mucho box time to become a great cigar.
