Marty,

That a great job you did on that web site.I have been really wanting to do a web site myself but I don't have the knowledge besides I have a hard time just finding the letters on the key board
I have been to the resorts Cayo G. as well. I stayed at the Melia Cayo Guilermo. I loved the place but my wife did not care for the cuisine. Did you happen to run into Ramone the manager of the LCDH when you were there? He is a great guy, very helpful even though his english is limited .

I used Placido's services as well and would recomend it for people who are not going to be near a factories in Havana.

Oh and Marty, you know I was joking the other day about the trailer. Your welcome in my home anytime and it isn't exactly a trailer. Wink

I don't have a digital cam, or at least yet. Here's a pix I found of the outside... actaully, I have no idea how to post a picture... I'll try cut a paste?? Doesn't work... I'll find a link then...
WOW: sorry about the address messing up the forum window. ouch!
My place is the top left where the sign is on the front balcony. Can't see the mezzanine from outside but we have a pretty big balcony in the rear. Not a house, but a huge for a brand new condo. We also have a cathedral ceiling in the living room, freakin cool!

Your place looks cool, with the solarium... very cool. My GF would be interested in a switch sometime, would be cool and so inexpensive for both of us. I might have to hide my humi and leave you a few sticks cause you might be like a kid in a candy store!! Smile I live in Laval, about 20 mins from downtown Mtl (when no traffic).

Great to see all the fellow Canadians enjoying their cigars and the discussions. Supper job on the pass, was a lot of fun watching (would rather have been participating …may be next time). As for procuring my stash, I do buy Cuban singles at the various shops in the area. Looks like the prices around here are fairly decent compared to what I'm seeing. For boxes, I get my non Cubans in the US and Cubans via a couple of good friends that travel to Cuba. Haven't been myself yet, but plans are in the making for a trip in the next year or so. I'll stop at one of the local shops this afternoon get a few current prices on the most common brands an post later .. just for your comparison. Also in this area for the shops I use fakes do not seem to be an issue

Hey guys, Boy do I have a huge chip on my shoulder.
On thursday I went out for supper at this really pimp restaurant in Montreal... I'm gonna squeel on them, why not; Hotel De La Montagne. The restaurant has AMAZING service and great food, very cool. So I walk up to it and see a mini-glass humidor. I can't help but look inside it (as I didn't bring a smoke with me) and to my surprise I see they have a Cohiba Esplendido 2000 Habanos Edition cigar for $30!!! I flip out and get all excited. At first I'm thinking FAKE! Then I think, well this is a top restaurant and hotel in Montreal, they wouldn't dare! Then I think, $30 for an Esplendido, FAKE. Then I think, 2000 Habanos Edition, do these even exist? So I can't hold back anymore, I need to know. I call J-P to annoy him and so someone can tell me "they're fake man" so I can relax and forget it. Then I realize that humans are all the same. When things are too good to be true, they usually are, but we just don't want to believe it!

Here's the million dollar question; When you go to Cuba, you know that the people who work there ALL sell fakes BUT you still want to see them because you're always thinking, WHAT IF THEY ARE REAL. We just can't pass up the great discount on that 1% chance that you get real Cubans. We're PATHETIC Smile

Soooo after driving J-P nuts with my childish excitement on an obvious question, I was able to resist buying one. The colour of them was on the dark side but I have yet to even so one of these for sale on the web. So what do you guys think... Obviously fakes, but wouldn't you be tempted too? Come on, tel the truth!!

PS: The box was a... glass top. BUT it had the CANADIAN Pastel seal on it too??? What the?? That means Canadian Customs approved the box? That's where I got realy confused???

My Math:
Cuban Cigar + Crown Royal + Sun + Balcony = Perfect Day.

Finally found something that looks like the cigars I saw.
http://www.vancouvercigar.com/shop/special.asp?thetype=specials&brand=Reserva%20del%20Milenio
I'm not posting a source, just a link so you can see the band on the cigar. SO the band DOES exist but the only Cohiba like that is the Pyramid NO ESPLENDIDO, so I found my TRUE ANSWER, they are FAKES Frown
Hoping to find a diamond in the rough Frown

Marty, see, I told ya dude. If you guys start LOOKING you are going to find fakes. Mike M. "Also in this area for the shops I use fakes do not seem to be an issue ". That's also what I though years ago. I'm going to compile a list of shops in my area that sell fakes. I would suggest everyone else do the same. Maybe we can put it all together and create a Habanos Dis-appointed Dealer list. Havana House has taken down their site of Appointed Dealers Frown. This is going to makes our jobs harder.

Hey, Marty - here's my email: ddelamont AT hotmail DOT com. Keep it for when you are planning to come over and we can hook up. Geneva's a real fun town to buy cigars in.

For everybody - do you order online internationally? Does customs hit you every time? Is it, in Alberta for example, 95% of the stated price on the decleration, or do they have a set scale that they use to calculate the duty?

Cheers,
Darryl

So should we start to take names? What do you guys want to call the pass? Let's have some fun with naming the pass so it can buy you some time Smile
-Great Canadian Cuban Pass
-"Pass the Cubans" Canada Pass
-CCC pass (Canadian Cuban Cigar)
-Fidel is traveling through Canada Pass

I don't know. Guys, help us out. Maybe we can find a cool name. Then again Can-ehh-dian box pass was pretty good but I made that one up myself so I'm a little bias!! Smile

Cuban Cigar + Crown Royal + Sun + Balcony = Perfect Day.

Whad up b*tch? Just for you Marty. Along with noting puts and takes in the trading forum, let's post them here also. No real reason, maybe just to tick some people off. Wink Let's keep this sucker topped. btw if quebecmike is in on the pass tell him not to put any of those REAS in there. They'll just foul up the good stuff by sucking all of the humidity out of them. Big Grin
Mike, that's going to be my last "rass" on REAS for you.
