Thought I'd start a new post for the Canadians on the site to chat it up (or anybody who wants info on Canada). A gang of us just finished our first all-cuban canadian box pass and it be nice to all keep in touch. Plus, if you want to get in our new pass, the boyz from Alberta will be posting in the next few weeks, check out the cigar trading forum.

Sooo anybody heading to Cuba anytime soon. Came back 1 month ago... fells like forever! Hear the Siglo VI is available now... like I had said a few months ago, $11.65 each, I knew it Smile Wonder if Placido has them in Cuba?

PS: Als will win the Grey Cup... AGAIN, anybody want to bet a smoke on it?

My Math:
Cuban Cigar + Crown Royal + Sun + Balcony = Perfect Day.

You left a good woman out of your perfect day. So your math is a bit off, IMO. Big Grin

Nah, you can leave the woman outta the equation. I smoke on the back deck and my wife is only invited if she keeps her stays short Big Grin

Anyhow, I like the idea of a Canada thread. I am about as far west as you can go without getting wet.

I agree with Van on the good woman, my wife has always been in agreement with me on the thing I have with cigars.
She never fails to ask me if I remembered to bring my cigars when we go out , and always asks for a toke when I try somthing new or one of her favourites !

I thought of adding "bee + jay" after but I stopped myself cause that would take my attention away from the cigar!! Alone time is amazing when you have the woman ALL THE TIME. That's when you need the cuban to help you relax. At least they don't b1tch!!

Ketche, that's cool!!
I finally got my chick to take a few puffs in Cuba and now she's down to try one here and there. I still like smoking my cigars by myself on the balcony though. JUST MAXIN AND RELAXIN!

Cuban Cigar + Crown Royal + Sun + Balcony = Perfect Day.

Perfect woman:

3 feet tall
Round mouth
No teeth
A flat head to put your drink down on.

OK, I acknowlege that the foregoing is offensive to women and misogynist in the extreme; however it is intented in the very nicest funniest way possible.

So how was the get together at Quantum's smoke shop? I myself had my first Siglo VI on the weekend and really enjoyed it. It probably could have used a little aging but it was stiil a great smoke.

Well I managed to get my wife smoking cigars about three months ago.Kept showing her pics in the CA mag of women who smoke stogies, so she decided to give it a try.She likes the small cigars, the small Guantanameras are her fav right now.Might have to get a lock on my humi when i'm out of town.yes , the plans are in place for the next pass , so watch for a new Canadian Eh Box Pass II thread in the trading forum. Cool

OK, since we have all the Canadian members attention. Do you buy on-line or at a shop? I have had a bad experience with the former( having to pay duty on the full price here on my order). It ended up costing me more than at a shop. My tobacconist treats me well and I love the smell of the humidor and being able to see what I'm buying.

Mad Fakes> In your area, how many shops sell counterfeit cuban cigars? 9 out 14 in my buying area(which actually ranges quite far, about 150km)
It really ticks me off to see signs that say " cuban cigars at discount prices" They might as as well place a big sign in their window saying I sell fakes.

In Montreal, not really that problem. Downtown you have a few shops that specialize in Cubans (for the tourists) They sell them a little more expensive than the LCDH but then again, they are flush downtown! I've seen an Esplendidos for $88 PLUS TAX! Quantum's store in T.O. sells them $70 to compare. If you go into a cigar store here, I found only real ones. Actually, my first Siglo I (one of my fav's) I bought at a dep (corner store) which sold Cubans and a coupe of humi's. It was real.. and DEE-LICIOUS! Only cost me $20 for one instead of $30. I'm sure you can find fakes somewhere in Montreal, but honestly, I haven't found a place yet! Knock on wood!

most of my stash I got in the country that they were rolled in, but I have been known to get a few singles in the TO LCDH and at Gordons in the Falls.

Geez I hate paying the Canadian prices, does that drop in the taxes in Alberta lower their prices enough to make it worth while to buy there?

Esplendidos in my area are about $71. Highest price was $94! Eek Same guy was selling Cohiba Piramide EL for $102 Mad At my tobacconist they were $58.00

One of the shops that sold fakes were storing cubans at 46%rh! Prices there were slightly cheaper(about 10%) than lcdh.
