Was on the grill last night smokin an Epi#2 that felt a little hard around the band.I rolled it between my fingers a little and took off the band.Couldn't help but noticing how much more attractive it made the cigar look.It didn't seam so short and fat all of a sudden.IMHO it looked more like what you would expect a cuban cigar to look like.
I always take the bands off after lighting. My source delivers bands a few days after cigars, and I put them back on just to keep the cigars separated in humi. I like variety and get a lot of 10 packs. Whenever I travel to Latin America, I see smokers take the bands off. I notice US smokers tend to not take them off.
The risk of kicking butt is you get some crap on your shoe
I've been pulling the bands off after I enjoy the smoke for a minute or two, been doing it this way for a long time. Just seems a sin to leave the band on a beautifully burning cigar.
