I recently pulled the trigger on a box of these and was curious if anyone smoked any lately. I'm a big Bolivar fan but I haven't been lucky enough to have smoked any yet. Some places state that this cigar is one of the strongest, full-bodied smokes coming out of Cuba. Any truth to that? How does everyone like these? Thanks, Brent

Great smokes with some age. Pretty good without it. IMO

I have heard that the 06 and early 07 are excellent but I have no experience myself with these. My friend says they are way better than his 03. He is aging two cabs. They are on my list of pending buys. But acquiring a cab of SLR DCs comes first.

I have a few left from a box SUA NOV 02. They have been an excellent smoke, should have bought more at the time.

Hi,
Strength of Bolivar was the reason that got me
into the brand. Whether Royal Coronas ( their ROBUSTO) or petite coronas (lancermo)the
BOLDNESS is the characteristic of this smoke! And I've been into them for 17 years!

I had a Bolivar Royal Corona on Thanksgiving day. It was a great smoke that was smooth, full-bodied, and had a perfect draw with plenty of fragrant smoke. I would definitely pick up a box of these and I plan to do so in the near future.

The Corona Extras have been not especially strong until the 06 & 07 versions. Those are very strong. 04s were especially mild for a Bolivar. For pure strength, the RyJ Cazadores is the way to go.

And by the way, early 06 Montecristo #4s are amazingly strong for that particular cigar.

Yes, there are not too many strong ones among CCs, and this is a really good, strong smoke. Enjoyed one just 3 days ago, smoked great after a good dinner. Recommend stongly to strong cigar lovers.

Nice. Thanks again for all of your input here. I'm anxious to try one of these. You don't hear much about this cigar but what you do hear is positive. Maybe it's a "hidden gem" so to speak.

I'm into the 1st 2 inches of this thing and I absolutely love it! Young box too, Sept 07 from POS. I have yet to have a bad smoke from POS. & Mr. Cohen, the draw's a little firm, I think I jinxed myself. Big Grin

No worries, I have a 1/8" drill bit designed just for the sole purpose of unplugging those stuffy Cubans.
