I just purchased a box and a 5 pack of cohiba sublimes. The box codes are GEP OCT04 and FDO SEP04. I've checked out cigar weekly's website and can't find the codes listed. Does anyone have a better place to look?

I wasn't aware the sublimes were available in 5 packs?

As to the box codes, it is my understanding that recent restructuring in cigar production slated the Limitadas to be rolled in one factory only. Not 100% sure on my facts, so take with a grain of salt. Also, the "new" box codes are basically not decipherable (alot anyway). When I was in Havana, the manager at the Romeo and Julieta store had to call around to figure out a box code of a box he had in his humidor ... he never did find out what it was!

Look at the bigger picture, box codes are basically useless but for the date, even then it's only when the cigars leave the factory, not when they are rolled.

Thanks Short,
I was thinking the EL's might have their own factory but wasn't sure.

one of my sources had a sample pack of 5 Sublimes and 5 Trinidad Robusto extras...something they put together.

Thanks for the help,

Bigfoot

Bigfoot,

Be very concerned if your five packs have stamped box codes. If you are saying that your source gave you the box codes of the complete (25) box that he made the 5-packs out of, well then that should be ok. Good luck and enjoy!

I'd be more concerned taking supreme advice from a guy who'd been to Havana maybe once, twice? Claiming to be an expert!! Gimme a break.
Even in the shadow of the "great one"that's a stretch!

Yeah, did you get a taste of a Sublime?
Did you even get downwind of a cigar while there? Good questions!

Something smells fishy and familiar - a guy with 1 post and no numbers next to his name giving someone a hard time for rendering advice. I think the missing catch phrase is LMAO, but it's the wrong sandbox. Arent there more important things to do.

I'd me more interested in what the cigar tasted like than the box codes or how many posts who has.
