I just posted on a different thread that I was awaiting a shipment of MC2 and HMDC from a vendor in Switzerland. The cigars arrived and I have some concerns about the MC2s. The wrappers were much darker than the MC2s I have in my humidor. I smoked one, and while it was actually a good cigar, I have serious doubts as to whether it was actually a Montecristo. First of all, the ash was too white. Second, it lacked the telltale tase of the MC (tasted more like an Ashton or a Fuente). If a vendor was selling fakes, why would they substitute a well-made, good-tasting, and probably expensive cigar?

I am relatively new to this board, but if anyone could verify my source, I would be grateful.
My e-mail is harpbook@earthlinkdotnet

Thanks

My one and only experience with a Switzerland vendor was getting two boxes at the same time. The box of PSD 3 EL were awesome, (have half the box left), while the BBF's were definitely fakes.

waverly 1:

What does that mean? Have I violated some known or unspoken code of cigar etiquette?

It is not my intent to offend anyone or to use this forum in ways that are not allowed or encouraged.

punched, if you're certain the BBF's were fake are you still saying you think the Edicion Limitadas were authentic?

You ordered both boxes at the same time from the same vendor, right?

Its hard to imagine a vendor doing that, but anything is possible.

This may be a silly question, but is there someone I can e-mail to verify a canadian cuban source? Who would know?
