I was waiting to share with you pics of some acquisitions from last month. I was delay due to a small incident with the box that I wished more: a Ramon Allones Estupendos (50) RE Asia 2007. This box was stopped in customs and took me sometime to find the problem, to find the possible solution, to find the proper guy and finally make the paper work. At the end, the regional boss of the customs were very nice with me and help a lot. I guess now we are friends but both parts wish avoid the same situation.
If you don´t make an effort and have patience probably you will end paying $1,300 USD in taxes or losing the package.
Anyway! everything finished very well and the cigars hit home in perfect conditions! except for the box that suffer some scratchs and the seal fell later in my hands... not bad if you consider that this box were passed truh police dogs, molecular inspection and visual inspection.
Well, here is the list of the Last Month Purchases:
Sorry, I have not taste any of this Habanos. I will let them rest a little. So far, by aroma the Estupendos seems to be great. By look you can judge.
Finally I want to post this pics of SAN CRISTOBAL DE LA HABANA MURALLAS (OEB FEB2006) to return the kind gesture of a connoisseur of the present forum. I bought this Rodolfo or Doble Piramide when they come out in February 2006 to a LCDH in Mexico City. Thanks to the pics that I received today I recall having this big Habanos resting. The smell right now is very very nice and they are very oily and firm to the touch... I will try to resist and wait at least one more year.

If I'm ever in mexico city I'll take you up on that xavier, of course, if you are in Texas I'm extending the same offer. The cigars might not be as nice though.

Nice haul Xavier.
I hate Mexican Customs, glad it wasn't too bad for you.
Jose
Hi Jose, It wasnt that bad... specially because the cigars, as you saw in the pics, were in perfect conditions despite the box spent several weeks in the customs warehouse. Mexican customs put more attention than the US contraparts so you have to be more willing to accept more risk in this situations. I recall someone talking about that the risk in USA to get a package confiscated is around 1.5% (nothing). Here this risk is like 15%. Thanks for the reply.

Why would a package of CCs to Mexico get confiscated??
Why? because sometimes they think that a cuban product must be coming from Cuba and not for another country with a reputation for copy everything, for example. In resume they can argue piracy.
