Hypothetically, I have a buddy who is going to visit Zurich next month. He is hypothetically planning to buy some Monte #2 and ship them out IF the price is right.
Does anyone know how I can find the prices at that specific retail outlet? I have emailed them (got the address from the mail La Casa .cu website) but haven't heard back. Anyone know?

In the amount of time it took, and the amount of energy you expended, to write such a clever question (hypothetically...), you would have the answer by now. THEN come on and say, "if anyone's interested, I was checking prices on Monte 2 in Zurich, and at the Casa de Habanos there, they go for __ SF..."
Sort of like the posters who come on and ask, "what should I expect from this RASS" instead of saying, "I just smoked a RASS with ___ box code, and these are my findings"
You see, with the information put forth from the LATTER method, we all benefit. The other way, you are just being lazy.

(Sigh),I suppose some folks here would prefer that no one ever ask a question here. Last time I checked questions do not need prior approval from fellow posters here. Most of us are generally more tolerant of others who are a bit lazy than we are of bitter, condescending boors.

Well, I could have given the guy a good amount of information as I know some things about the Zurichese cigar market, but he didn't bother to e-mail me. C'est la vie.
hetch, not everyone who works in cigar stores in Zurich knows English. Menzi probably does, but I would go so far as to say that there are better places to purchase cigars in Zurich than the LCDH.
(sigh). True that...then there would be no need for smug replies such as that, and you could spend all your time elsewhere...like that place in VA.

350? That seems high - if I recall, they go for about 12.50 CHF each here in Geneva, which would be 312.50 CHF, or about $250. I can't picture it being that much more in Zurich, though it's been a year or so since I've been there.

Coriol - I didn't send ya an email because Tel had already responded with an answer pretty quickly. But I appreciate the offer of help.
Yeah, I could have made phone calls, not spent 4 1/2 hours coming up with the "clever" email, blah, blah, blah. I was at work when I posted the question, a buddy of mine was heading to Zurich and I wanted to give him a quick anwswer, I didn't want to make an international call on my client's phone, et, etc. ....Need I go on to justify myself?
It was simple question and a few folks were helpful in offering advice. To those I say "thanks". The rest seem to be offended by a simple question. What the heck kind of forum is this when you have to post the answer before you can ask a question? Obviously, not enough cigars are being smoked because some of the boys here need to relax a bit.

Don't worry about it guilow. Some people just can't get through the day without being a jerk to someone. Maybe it makes them feel more important or something to be snide and rude to people, knowing they can get away with it from behind the safety of a keyboard. Maybe they believe it will make others look at them as some kind of authority figure and they need that type of attention. Who knows, really? Unfortunately, there are a disproportianate number of those type folks that seem to reside on this forum. Don't know why...don't ask why...that's just the way it is.

It seems to me that the question was, "how do I find out what the prices are" and not, "how much is a box of Monte 2's at the LCDH in ___?" How do you find out? You call!
As a citizen of the US, you UNDOUBTEDLY know that it's illegal to spend US currency on items of Cuban origin, otherwise, the question would have been more than mere hypothesis. Because the vast majority of information on this and other forums is misleading in some material respect, it is indeed beneficial to all if we could do a little, just a little, research on our own and come up with information that would be a database for these questions.
With so many really significant issues that abound with respect to Cuba AND Cuban Cigars (the topic of this forum), it's no wonder frivolous questions such as the one posed meet with such disdain. Except of course from Dudley Do Right who is so quick to point out the misery in which everyone else in the world seemingly exists. To me, it's a wonder that someone with so much disdain even bothers to post here at all. Any information? or mere inofficious intermeddling and feeding the codependency? The latter, obviously...mere commentary lacking in substance, significance or salience.
"I intend to break the law by spending US currency on items of Cuban origin, and I just need to know how much I have to part with. Mind you, I never thought of calling or finding out other ways to answer my own question, and would much rather engage in anonymous tilting at windmills, so I'll lay it all on you out there, the general public, and allow the critics here to snicker."
