Well if money is no objective then I'd say both, but the El 2006 is around 250-300 for a box of 10 right now while esplendidos range from 450-600 or more for a box of 25. I'd go with EL 2006 because the Esplendidos will always be there but it'll be hard to find the EL 2006 in a couple more years.

Both are solid choices. If you are unsure, try and get samples of each to help you decide.
What type of cigar profile do you prefer? What cigars have you smoked? Just buying the cigar because other people said they are great, may lead to disappointment.
As well box codes will play a key role in getting a quality cigar.
But, if I had to choose, I would buy 5 or 6 boxes of the Cohiba EL 2006. And I did. Amazing smoke.

the esplendido gets an edge today, because it has been on the market for a long time, and you can find some with decent age on them...
the cohiba piramides needs some time; although is smoking great now, I can only immagine what a few years will do to it.. and knowing that it will not be around for that long gives it a couple of points as well..
so in reality it's a tie...
to me, it kind of depends on what you're looking for.. aging or smoking ??
Tough to say. The '06 ELs were terrific young, but it will take at least another few years to know how good they ultimately are. Esplendidos are excellent cigars, which also need some aging to really shine.
Personally, I would go with the Piramide, but I usually prefer that vitola to the Juileta 2.
I have the 06 Piramides and they are superb. Buy them now while you still can. Much better than the 06/07 Dido'. IMHO the 2006 EL's have been the best year of any EL release by a long shot.
The Esplendido I believe is just a shadow of its former self. I dont think it is the jewel in the crown of Cohiba like it used to be and I have a hunch it does not get the best of the best raw materials they way it used too.
Too much competition for thr Esplendido in the $500 a box range these days. The King is dead long live the king....

To be honest this really depends on whether you prefer Cohiba flavours or EL flavours IMHO the EL wrappers screw cigars out of the individuality of their marca when they are young. (It's impossible for me to tell what will happen with age.) The Cohiba EL is good, but don't expect it to taste like a Cohiba.

You made a wise choice my friend. When faced with a similar decision I went with the EL's because they are going to be gone soon. The others are regular production.
That price seems a bit high to me, but these are starting to dry up . . .
