What are some of your thoughts? I really want to buy a box of these. The only thing that has been holding me back is the price. Can anyone here justify the price? Also maybe what box code I should get? I know there are other cigars in the robusto range but I have them all. PSD4,JL2.HDM2, etc. Thank you guys!

Justifying price is very subjective. I can personally, because the quality and consistency of Cohiba is high. I really like the flavour profile.
You need to try a few, and see whether you feel OK spending more for these than for RASS, PSD4 etc. I like variety, and these will always be part of my rotation.

For around the same price and brand I actually prefer the Siglo IV. Corona gordas aren't that far off from robustos if they're your vitola of choice. Either way I do think they're worth the money if you can afford them. If you have the patience to age those suckers, even better!

I myself have boxes of PD4, RASS, Monte Pet Edm. JL2, VR Famosos and still got the CoRO.
I do not regret it at all...these are amazing smokes, the quality is well worth the price.

"You only have to spend $150 for a box of montecristo #4's? Holy crap, I got screwed in canada... I mean no vaseline, no kiss behind the ear, leave me high and dry screwed.

/sigh

Sorry for the threadjack.

COROs are great, but are wasted if smoked young.

Exactly, after three years plus they become simply outstanding.

I know there are a lot of arguments about favorites, but for my money the CoRo is the very best robusto out there. What the others guys said about aging.

well i have smoked many of these and as well as all different Cohiba's and all a great cigar. As for the robustos, they are as well a very good cigar and yes they are a bit pricey, but it depends on your situation. If you buy one box a year and can afford them and smoke one a month then its a great cigar to keep. But if you want to buy many cigars and spread your money out better then do that as well. They are a great cigar and there is nothing you can do about the price. Try them like the one gentleman said in a prior post and make sure you love them. But for the Cohiba consistency and great flavors you need to have one in your lifetime. I would buy a box, they are worth the price, well as long as you buy them from Cuba as the price in Canada is a bit too much

Outstanding cigar when aged. I just had one over the weekend from a ECA CCNN cab that I bought back around 2001. Still four of them left in the bottom of the cab!

Great cigar. Have a couple of cabs. The 08s are smoking extremely well right now. Trying to keep my hands off of them but it is sooooo tough.

My source is out of everything it seems right now but the CoRo. I was really just thinking of going with a box of PSD4 and BRC. We will see...

For my last order I didnt think twice about getting CoRo for what I eventually ordered which was PSD4, BRC, and RASS. CoRo is a great cigar, but the price tag just makes it less attractive vs the above mentioned CC's. Plus the CoRo's really need some age before the full flavor profile comes out based on one's I have smoked. Not a cigar to puff right out the box imho.

If I am going to smoke a young robusto sized cigar, there are many that I'd buy before the CORO. RASS, PSD #4, ERDMCS, ect... For the extra dough, a young CORO aint worth it. But give it 3 to 5 years and they are. But thats just me, if you want to smoke them young, go for it.

OK so this is the part I always have issue with. Lots of guys say that they are wasted if smoked young. True. To me, for the most part, all cigars are wasted if smoked young.
What I don't agree with is that age has some extra-magical effect on CoRo that is substantially different from other Habanos.
Box date and blend, however, is a different thing. Saying a box from the nineties is better than a newer box is a different thing than saying that any five year old box of CoRo is magically amazing. Unless you just think CoRo are all magically amazing. Saying a box from the nineties is better than a comparably aged box at some time in the future is a truism, cause, as my Daddy used to say, they don't make 'em like that anymore.
Point is, I would argue (and have ad nauseum) that no matter how long you hold a box of say, '07's, they ain't never gonna taste like '97's used to.
So if you think that CoRo are worth the premium over RASS, RC's, Famosos, etc. today, then go for it. Just don't think that somehow they're gonna be more better than those others five years from now. If you're buying it and paying the premium to chase the nineties CoRo, Esplendido, Siglo whatever experience, then I would counsel that you save your money and buy some Regios.
One insignificant man's opinion, at least.

Rass-ster, gotta tell ya, had a 2-year-old RASS last night that was to die for. But the funny thing is it's flavor profile was nothing like what I'm used to in that cigar. Very floral, almost perfumey, much in the way a good Boli BF has been for me. Loved it though.

Cohiba Robusto's

well obviously this is worthless without pics, these are one of the most faked cigars so the true deciding factor is taste and the realibility of the vendor...
