Dan, just add something intelligent to the conversation, please? Please explain your position, I'm curious to know your opinion on the topic, and your reasons behind it ...

Ron try reading the discussion, which I guess you haven't. I know its a bunch of pages, but you can do it.

Still no examples of "propaganda" ?

oedipus1,
From someone who thinks "Fahrenheit 911" is a quote " great movie ", I would expect nothing less.

I am dismayed. However I shall forgive. But is it mine to pass judgement and pass sentence?

This place has a lot of visibility because of the magazine's notoriety. Its the celebrities on the covers and the newstand placement, you know.

As such it is a high traffic messenger. Many posters. Some stay, some come & go.

Nice to see you.

To answer Danstuff...it is easy and you can I believe agree with this....

Castro is a dictator...he runs the country....he makes the rules and

He said in short "F" off USA...

A lot of us would agree that is the right move considering the lack of civility and US politics toward Cuba... And I believe to offer a country $50M to fix $200MM in damages is a slap in the face….And a dick move by our president….

Piss on me once ...that's your fault...Piss on me twice that's my fault....

Yes, I agree, that is what he did. That is why I don't think he is a good leader. Like I said before, sometimes you must swallow your pride & do what is right for the Cuban people.
I also believe(but know it wouldn't happen), that if he did except the money, there would be more to come.
He had the opportunity to make a small change in the U.S. relationship with Cuba, but yet he did not. Castro is the problem, not the U.S.

Thanks for actually not attacking me. We will just have to agree to disagree.

So glad I lived up to your expectations. Coming from someone who has never lived up to ANYONE'S expectations his entire life, that's very comforting. LOL....ah, the more things change, the more they stay the same. They must have a revolving door around here. They let one out, they let a new one in.....I've got to go find that Dylan song Lig used to post for certain guys....better let Bob D. tell it to you direct. Something about a wind blowing through your teeth.

Do the math and we would have avoided several pages of this drivel, and you the embarrassment. In plain English, accepting $50,000 is NOT good for the people of Cuba. To put it in terms you might understand, let's say you have a restaurant and you're trying to feed a 50,000 people...and a bitter foe who has done everything in its power to own so much as a hotplate offers you a grain of salt. Of course, a grain of salt is not going to have ANY affect whatsoever, and accepting it is an insult showing weakness. While $50,000 seems like a lot of money from the perspective of your trailer park, compared to the relative GNP of world powers, it's less than the allowance you pay your dog. How 'bout this. Y'all need to drive a bus carryin' 250,000 people from Shreveport to Kennebunkport, and your ex father in law wants to help out by giving y'all a half-gallon of gas, expecting you to kiss his lilly white one because of it. Would you take it? Is it gonna help y'all?

oops...typos:

"...let's say you have a restaurant and you're trying to feed 50,000 people...and a bitter foe who has done everything in its power so that you could not own so much as a hotplate offers you a grain of salt..."

there...that makes more sense.

@danstufft

What are YOU doing else than pro-Bush Propaganda?
And have you ever SEEN Fahrenheit 9/11? Everybody is talking about the "evil Moore", most who are talking haven't seen it, but the movie was really funny. Not a documentation, but a nice view behind the official mask of George Bush. Have it in english with german subs; even more interesting than a full translatet movie.
Ah, and I was against that man since '01 Wink

I often looked at the white house; the most sympathic Presidend was Mr. Lew... oops - Clinton! Lies told every president. But SUCH lies like Bush...´that was a long time ago.

No my friend, you can't tell me, this guy is a good president. Believe what you want.

About Castro we think in the same direction; he is a dictator. But he is a different dictator as like Batista; I hope you confirm in this. Batista did NOTHING for the public. He is more the kind of east block dictator, and I had to live in this System nearly 25 years. I knew it, and I knew the system; and I can tell you one thing: I wouldd prefer to live under Castro than under Batista. And about political prisoners: I can send you some books about the hunt for communists in the early 60's. US hasn't political prisoners? Bullsh*t! Every system has them! Where? I tell you ONE Place: Guantanamo!

Regards Holger

oedipus1 (actually the pushin-50 has-been punk gangstah now using the handle):

"I've got to go find that Dylan song Lig used to post for certain guys"

Still can't get over himself. Last time around he mentioned "the Lig". You know-like "the Donald".

But what is the real story?

Was the $50,000 smackers late payment for those Upmans that JFK forgot to pay?

Or did it come with a purchase order for this year's choicest ELs?

Out of one, many.
