Holy Sh*t Tim, you smoked up a cloud while in Cancun! Thanks for the blog.
Like I said, I'll be going to the LCDH soon. I definitely will be buying a box or two. I've never picked out boxes at an LCDH before. Just wondering if there are any etiquettes for picking out a box of cigars? I'm assuming it would be ok to touch and squeeze the cigars as long as you don't damage them, sniff them, or do anything that would make others not want to buy the cigars. I appreciate any insights since I don't want to step on any toes.
Beware the bait and switch in La Casa del Habano. They display legit boxes, but if you buy one keep it with you. Don't let them take it and disappear in back for a second as the switch has been known to happen.
Be prepared to pay high prices. Real CCs are expensive in Mexico (high taxes) and even more expensive in Cancun. It is much better to bring your own if you have them.

Well that is the only place I will be visiting outside the US so I guess I'm stuck. I'll be going at the end of April for almost a week. Man, I can't wait.
For sure you will be allowed to look at them, have them open a box or look at one that is already opened. Check out both rows, but be careful with them as you said, they should have no problems with this.
Guys who are going soon be sure to post back about your experience. I am going to Cancun around New Years and already can't wait. Want to hear as much about the place as I can. Enjoy!

I plan on taking some photos when I go in April. I'll probably post a trip review here at the end of April. I don't know how much time I will have to smoke cigars since I'll be with 5 non-smokers and will be visiting Chichen Itza, but I'll try to spend at least a few hours at the LCDH.
Thanks burnham. I only smoked an Edmundo Dantes while sipping on some Havana Club 7 Anos on my last day there. We were only there for 3 days of which one was for Chichen Itza, another day was for Isla Mujeres, while the last day was just to relax and enjoy the sun and the beach after partying at Coco Bongo until pretty late the night before.
The ED109 cost $40 each. I bought three, smoked one there and brought the other two back; no problems with customs. I didn't buy anything else since they are more expensive than my sources and did not really have anything that I can't find. They do have some Serie D No. 3 ELs and Montecristo ELs; no 2008 cigars yet .

Pacespace I am looking forward to hearing about your trip as well.
You'd be surprised, but there weren't much business during the 2.5 hours I was there smoking the ED109 (on a Saturday afternoon). I got an email from them about 3 weeks before going to Cancun where they advertised a new box of ED109s they just got. When I went, there were still 24 out of the box of 25, so I would think there will be a few left when you go in December.
