Don Andres, tell us a little about yourself. How long have you been smoking cigars? How long have you been residing in Mexico? What brought you there?

I have been smoking cigars for about 12 yrs. I discovered cc through family in Monterrey, Mx. and the was no turning back.

I have owned a home in Merida for about 7 years, but only recently relocated here. It is an absolutely lovely, old-world city of 1 million, with many modern amenities and a great loaction. yes, it is the tropics. yes, it is usually hot here. : )
still it is a friendly city with a great tolerance for the cigar culture. we are the only cigar store in the entire state and the closest competitor is 200 miles away in cancun. i have a beautiful staff of mexican and cuban women and they always bring a smile to my face. all and all it has been lots of fun immersing ourselves in the cuban cigar world.

please stop by for a visit anytime you are in the neighborhood. everything is more fun in the tropics.

cheers

That was my fault, Drew.....I misintrepreted source as being, well, not a legitimate seller etc...but more of an "underground" source if you will...

My apologies all!

Please do not let the word out about Merida. I would hate to see it ruined.

In March of '99, at the invitation of the Mexican National Institute of Anthropology and History, the Yucatan State Secretary of Ecology and the University of the Yucatan, I organized an expedition to explore the cenote (underwater cave) at Dzibilchaltun. We mapped over a mile of cave, discovered a bunch of new "critters" and had a blast. I have been trying to get back ever since.

There was a restaurant overlooking the town square where we would order Tacos Al Pastor ten at a time for about 50 cents a piece. They are still the best I've had.

I may not know much about cigars, but if anybody needs to know about cave diving near Merida, let me know.
