I went to Vegas again last week for a Search Engine Business Deal, and all the time I was thinking of smoking an Habano at the Cigar Lounge at Double Eagle Steak House, but to my surprise you can't smoke anymore, nothing nada.
I first saw the sign outside NO Smoking, I thought maybe this is just for the restaurant, so I finished up my meal and moved over to the Cigar Lounge, I start lighting my Hoyo Particular and then the waitress comes up and says, we are sorry sir but you can't smoke here anymore,
I said but im in a Cigar lounge in Vegas, Yes but you can't smoke anymore in Vegas, so now im have to put out one of my rare habanos and have to wait to go to a bar and just got really mad,
Even the Food wasn't good, I had the Kobe Rib Eye Totally over rated, I don't know it just made me mad that you could not smoke an Habano, and the steaks weren't good.
Like they say it's never as good as the first time, went back to the Hotel Bar, loud noise, and well started smoking there, im just bummed that not even in Vegas can you smoke anymore.

I'm planning on going back to Vegas in June. I am apprehensive at going to Casa Fuente and having to pay for overpriced cigars in order to smoke. Perhaps I can just purchase a drink and bring my own without saying anything.

All about the Benjamins. If they think they're losing money because of the smoking, then out goes the smoking.

Anyone know where you can and cannot smoke in Vegas now? I used to enjoy smoking a cigar at Bellagio, on the casino floor, at the Petrossian Bar, in my cabana. Are these places now all off limits?
Vegas is a total ripoff, in general. No deals to be found on hotels (plan on minimum $250 - 300/night at a nice hotel over the weekend); very congested, ripoffs when going to nightclubs; often 20-30 minute taxi lines at the airport, and lots of La La and OC people thinking they're from "Entourage". It's a wannabe faux NYC with gambling in the middle of a desert. etc. etc......they do have good restaurants, but I eat to live--not vice versa. Other than that, I highly endorse it.

Chris, You can bring your own smokes to Casa. As of right now, youcan still smoke on their "patio", too. I don't know how long that is going to last due to the fact that the only reason that's still available is because they've filed a lawsuit against the local Heath Dept.
Shortsqueeze, You can smoke anywhere that does not serve food. Anywhere in the casinos except the restaurants and malls. Dont know about the cabana, though. My guess is no.

Alot of the bars serve food though, like all of them in Bellagio save for Light, does that mean they are all no-smoking, or if they are in the casino, even if they serve food, you can still smoke?
And I 100% diagree with Roy, Vegas is awesome, and isn't a ripoff, it's like Havana, you need to know what you are doing or you will be throwing your money away. I lived in Manhattan and I go there often enough to know Vegas is nothing like NYC, and Vegas is not TRYING to be NYC, entirely different vibe, atmosphere, etc. not even close!
If they serve food, smoking is verboeten. It doesn't matter the location. Many places here have simply stopped serving food, as it was always a loss leader and provided solely as an amenity to the gambler.

One of the best steaks I ever had was at Del Frisco's...far and away. It wasn't the Kobe, though...just the porterhouse. And then, smoking was permitted even at the table, and I had one of my most memorable smokes that same night...a RAG.
I would have thought that smoking in the cigar lounge would be OK...totally separated, behind closed doors, and everything. Perhaps too many people from California go there who are too used to no smoking anywhere. Thanks Rob Reiner!

Maybe the magazine should do a cover featuring the Meathead himself...Rob Reiner! Now I'd buy that issue...

I used to love Del Frisco's and more important the cigar lounge after the steak was the best.
Now this is a thing of the past, I had to smoke my Habano in a crowded bar filled with teenagers and it was not a comfortable place.
As for the Casa Fuente we went next day, waited for like 20 minutes for a table, and well it's not the same, since it's not as classy as Del Frisco's not at all, the music sucked all Cumbias, I want to hear Sinatra, Bennette not a Cumbia from Colombia.
It looks like they do everything to make Cigar Smokers fell as uncomfortable as they can so that we limit ourselves to smoking in our own homes, well hope this changes if not it will be a shame.

Well, here in Dallas, Del Frisco's still reigns king of the steakhouses, and the one on Spring Valley and the tollway has Dee's Havana lounge...I still maintain 2 cigar lockers there and get there as often as time allows.
We can still smoke cigars here in Texas except for places like the Peoples Republik of Austin and a few other communities that put the rights of certain groups of people above the rights of others.
Anyway...
I prefer the bone-in ribeye at Del Frisco's...much more flavor than a filet but a tad harder to get at all the meat (damn bone). I don't think I've had a fliet there in months.

Agree with you about the Del Frisco's Spring Valley...have not been there for 3-4 years--do they still have that "collapsable" record juke box in Dee's? That was a classic.

Screw Vegas. Way overrated. Go to Laughlin. You can smoke cigars everywhere. Total oldschool. $20 a night Sun-Thur, $50 a night Fri-Sat. Edgewater. Hang out with real people.

Personally I tell family & friends that Primm or Mesquite are the places to go in NV now. A lot of money has been dumped into hotels/casinos/golf courses in both cities. No traffic, no immigrant standing on the corner shoving porn at you, and plenty of places to light up. Personally I've never been, but have heard nothing bad yet from those that have gone.

Roy...LOL...I just saw this post after so many months.
Nope, the juke is gone. Sadly.
Still love Del Frisco's. Too bad about Vegas. I told Dee a few weeks ago how disappointed I was about theVegas laws. She said the after-dinner bar business is way off due to the draconian smoking laws. They are good honest business poeple getting hurt by the smoking nazi's.
SO when exactly will the people stand up and take no more of this sh*t from their state and local governments?
I think it's time for another tea party.

The best steak in Las Vegas is at the Golden Steer. Period. The service is without compare, the average waiter has been there for decades. Its one of the oldest restaurants in town, the bar is a classic and I'll take "old vegas" any time. You can smoke all you like.
