Hello. I am fairly new to cigar-smoking, although I must say I do enjoy it greatly. I have an overseas vacation coming up and would like to buy some Cuban cigars. I am looking for a medium-bodied, creamy and (slightly) sweet cigar. Any suggestions? Any ideas would help. Thanks!

Size matters. If you're looking for a ROBUSTO, the choices above are great:

Cohiba Robusto
ERdM Choix Supreme
also try the Ramon Allones Specially Selected

I am fond of corona gordas, because of the excellent combination and balance of length and ring gauge. Some you might enjoy include:

*Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure 1 (they are EXCELLENT these days)
*Punch Punch, or Punch Black Prince
*H. Upmann Magnun 46
*Cohiba Siglo IV (expensive)
*Juan Lopez #1 (I am not fond of the cigar, and it's fairly bland, but it would be considered 'creamy')

good luck and have fun! If you want something larger...try:

*La Gloria Cubana Medaille d'Oro #2 (a 'dalia' size...on the mild side, but flavorful and creamy)
*Montecristo #1 ('cervantez' size, very elegant, well balanced cigar)
*Montecristo Especial #1 or #2 (thinner gauge...creamy and sweet are good adjectives for these)
*Romeo y Julieta Churchill

I'll second the El Rey del Mundo, the older the better. Creamy with toasted tobacco, vanilla bean and a touch of honey

El Rey Del Mundo Choix Supremes are great. But when I read the original description, I immediately thought of the Cohiba. It was as if that very cigar was being talked about. . . .

A Romeo y Julieta or Montecristo are choice, but some are machine made, so watch out for that.

Im pretty sure Habanos SA did away with the brands (machine mades) that had machine made/hand finished and totalamente a mano cigars. Now, anything in a given brand is either all hand rolled or all machine made. I could be wrong.

And welcome to the forum.
