I was in London this past week and managed to do my usual cigar shop rounds at St. James Street. Hit up the Davidoff shop and picked up a bolivar petit belicosos and proceeded to take a walk in Hyde Park on a nice 75 degree sunny day in London. All I can say about this lil smoke is W-O-W. In my opinion, it is the best smoke of the 09 LEs and 2009 overall for CCs. My smoke had a nice medium dark wrapper and a full-bodied flavor. Mind you I smoke BRCs on the regular as well as BBFs, but the body of this cigar was turned up a notch. Not a "flavor bomb" in terms of complexity of flavors but more of that strong tobacco kick. Almost reminded me of some of the tobacco from nicaragua. Must be the aging of the tobacco in this LE. Anyway, I thought it was a great smoke and definitely one to stock up in your humidors.

Excellent short review...how does it compare to the Short Boli? I just picked up a box of the latter and find them a bit young and am tempted to buy a cab of the LE's.

This is really my first year smoking CC's...on a regular basis. I can't help but think that the inconsistency of CC's really makes reviews less valuable. I smoked the Bolivar Petite a ways back and made the call that I would not order a box...just not much there for me...now this review. I have several singles in the humidor and I will revist them.

I have found the Mag 48 and RJ Duke to be great cigars.

I know it's been mentioned before...but oftentimes it seems to be the luck of the draw...and or box.

Just part of the CC process.

Thanks Parface for your review...I will check them out again...

They're far, far more consistent than they were at the end of the last/beginning of this decade.

Of much greater importance, IMO, are having a vendor whom you trust to take care of you, giving recently shipped cigars some time to rest, proper humidity, and where they are in the aging process.

Reviews from people whose palettes I trust, whom I know to have genuine, quality, well cared for cigars are interesting, informative, and helpful to me.

At smll2,

Not sure you can compare the Bolivar Petite you smoked "a ways back" to the LE as it came out during the latter half of this year. Like comparing apples to oranges.
