Has anyone tried a Cuban Reject cigar? I bought some at the local cigar shop and was wondering how they rate amongst all you vets.

I thought Cuban Rejects were those smokers kicked out of Cuba for saying Ecuadoran wrappers were the best...

Cuban Rejects are cheap DOMINICAN CIGARS distributed by a California concern, Phillips and King.

this cigar should be no more than $2.50, and is decent for such a price. You get what you pay for and this is cigar is seemingly bland spice that doesn't evolve into much, but hey, it's less than $3. an everyday smoke, not for a big occasion

Cuban rejects are the cigars rolled by newer rollers that don't pass the muster. they are sold in shops and on streets in mexico and other tourist areas. they don't look good but sometimes taste every bit as good. also sometimes known as segundos as my friends here in miami tell me. i hope i was able to help you newer guys out.

Sounds like something Thompson would sell with a flashy full page ad.

oh NO! I remember when sitting on my reading throne flipping through the catalog...er...crapalog from that t word company seeing these things.

i wondered to myself "who in the world would actually believe these are really from cuba. i'm suprised they are allowed to market these as such..."

doh!

looks like they are actually nicaraguan tobacco based on the link above... but that was just a quick google search.

No such thing as segundos in Cuba,
All cigars that are not up to standards are cut up and are blended into cigarette tobacco.

oh how uneducated some peope are. i live in miami and by all my cubans from real cuban people. my good friend told me that when the cuban tobacco is snuck into miami they go to ex rollers from cuba. most are great rollers from the great factories of cuba. then depending on which company they worked for they will roll r&j's, cohiba and so on. sometimes they teach young rollers and these are the cuban segundos or rejects. same tobacco just not as nice to look at. i get those cuban cigars cheaper from my miami real cuban friends. as i stated before i am here to teach.

thanks cigar teacher, you don't post often but when you do, it's very informative.

Interesting how Cigar Teacher registered on April 1 with no e-mail. Steve your software business must be slow, although sometimes CT is entertaining just getting old.
