Hi all,

First post to the CC board, mainly stay in the NC board, but i have a question for the wise sages here. I have a few MC #2s, and a few Cohibas, and about 15 Jose L Piedra. I know the JLPs are very inexpensive, but they are not bad... the question is that the JLP wrappers appear to be changing colors, to a greenish shape, it is not a mold, but the actual wrapper appears to be changing... any answers to this would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Bob

Are you saying, the cigars you have are changing from brown to green? Or are you saying, the last batch are greener than the previous batch?

I find that when I buy them in 5 pack boxes, they tend to look better, than when I buy a bundle of 25 they can vary greatly. Some almost look like a Candela wrapper. But boy they smoke good.

I agree with Paleto. I have been through about six to seven bundles of JLP's. One of my favorite "yard gar's". A good cheap MM cuban tasting cigar(sometimes underfilled and easy on the wallet). I have found that the wrapper color varies greatly within the bundles of 25. From almost a green candela to a dark maduro(all within the same bundle)I don't know why but I guess you get what you pay for... I personally like them and will continue to buy them. Cool

Thank you Paleto and Rhino,

I did not notice the color difference when i put them in my humidore a couple of months ago. On some of them, part of the wrapper is brownish and and the other side is greenish... reminds me of something sitting out in the sun and changing color on the sunny side.

Do you have a glass top humidor, because then the exposed cigars in your humi could fade if they are in direct light.

Hi Jadawin,

No glass, it is all wood and i keep it out of direct sun light. It really is sort of weird.

Ahhhh, autumn...my favorite time of year. The colors of the leaves changing on the trees. Absolutely stunning.

What I didn't know was that ojas de platano (banana leaves...) go through the foliage, too! I guess you get what you pay for.
