went 2 a small brick n mortar store today 2 pick up 2 sticks 4 my job 2nite....

turns out on if the guys I train with in NYC knows this kid, so we get 2 talking in the little walk in humidor they have....

I tell him the story of how I got burnt in the cohibas, n he tells me they have cubans....

he unlocks a cabniet on the bottom that I didnt even notice, n there r a few boxes of partagas, r&j's, n montys......

sitting next 2 these is one lonely cohiba, about 51/2 inches, 40-42 run gauge, all by itself with a slightly damaged foot.....

I inspected it, n the band is genuine, n it smells like nothing I've ever tried b4.... so I pony up the 20 bucks, sit down in the little humidor, get some wood matches n its on!!!!!

I've never had a better smoke.... such smoothness where u could inhale it even if u chose 2.... yet complex flavor...... i mean, things were going on in my mouth I couldn't even describe!!!!

all n all, one of the better experiences of my young life.....

also picked up a perdomo lot 23...... whats ur opinion on this smoke?

I'll let u guys know what I think about it around 2am when I'm done with it.....

Smile

am now finishing the perdomo..,,, very flavorful with about 4 inches left...,.

I'll post pics of the band from the cohiba I had earlier....... I think it was real, n it tasted unlike anything I've had b4..... but alas, I've been duped b4....

Ok, here's the problem:

1.) You only showed us pictures on the bands, which mean absolutly nothing at all. You can guy real CC bands online in bundles of 100 for about $10. Then, you stick one on any other cigar and people will think it's real.

2.) Buying from a store in the US will always almost ensure that you're getting fakes. You see, they wouldn't just tell anyone, knowing that the word might get out, which it has,you posted the actual street where it's located. Individuals may not get fined a lot, but if a US store gets caught selling CC's, they are most definitly screwed!

Real or not this is the problem with people who just don't think before typing.

I'm sure the B&M would love to read this thread, Think about it, if it is fake they get nabbed for mis-representing product, if it is real they get nabbed for selling cubans.

Lose, Lose situation for sure. Frown

Wow, sounds like a similiar deal I got once in NY! I was on a street corner by a jewelry store and after checking out some Rolex watches, I figured my wife wouldn't want me to give up the $5k. However, I was approached outside the store by a very nice guy who happened to have 25 Rolex watches at a discount, they were even in real Rolex boxes! Wow, talk about a deal! I just know I really made out on that one! Roll Eyes

Matt you are real piece of work. We want to see pictures of the cigars, not you, trolling for who knows what.

Secondly you must be the same guy who posts those fuzzy pictures of alien space craft. Focus Matt, Focus.

They could've been real. If you enjoyed them, buy more.

I have no idea what Matt just said, but I am sure it is very important. You are writing like a 16 yr old grl Matt. Very amusing.

First off, regardless of how many shops it has, you gave up the street. Oh, it would be oh so hard for a government offical to walk into everyone undercover, get to know the owner, and bust him. It's not like you're family, you ride the train with someone who knows someone. So maybe you should think before you type. There's a reason there's a no posting soucres rule. If you honestly think the shop couldn't get caught because there's more then one on that road, you're crazy, vendors have been busted for much, much less.

The only time I've ever heard of a guy getting real CC's is when you're either family, or you're a long time patron and you spend crazy sums of money.

Plus, by the title of your post, you never smoked a CC before, so you couldn't tell by taste and the band is meaningless.

I don't mean to sound mean, but these are things that new people do all the time. People think just because they don't disclose the actual name of the vendor they wont get caught, they think if the band is real, the cigar is real. They somehow think this wonderful "I know a guy who knows a guy" stories actually are true.

Listen, instead of chancing it over and over again, stick around the board for awhile and maybe someone will help you out.

The fact that they disclosed the fact they had CC's makes it less likely they're real. In fact, any shop that sells CC's in my opinion(if any actually do), is not good. They're taking a huge risk.

DON'T BUY "CUBAN" CIGARS FROM B&M SHOPS IN THE U.S.!!!!!!!

You will get fakes 99+% percent of the time. I seriously doubt you were one of the lucky <1%. I gave this very warning in the other thread you started.

The size you described sounds like a Corona. There is no legit Cuban Cohiba that is Corona size. It may very well have been a good cigar, but it was not the cigar you paid for!

You know, I think I'm through with giving advice to people who just refuse to listen....which is basically every hard-headed newbie on this board. I'm risking carpal tunnel syndrome trying to genuinely help people out who just want to do things their way instead of the smart and correct way. Enough is enough. And people wonder why the fake market is so huge in the U.S....it's because no one will believe that some sweet-talking hustler could con THEM...and because they want a Cuban cigar so bad that they will believe anyone who offers to sell them one. Roll Eyes

You have to go through the proper channels to get authentic product. Period!

Finito. Mad
