It's suppose to come out in 08 right? Is it already out or are we still waiting?

No matter where you go or what you want to do....there will always be something or someone in the way.

Partagas has always had a salomone. I think?

I have always picked up the unbanded Partagas Salomone fromt he Partagas Factory in Cuba, and some online stores offer them as well. I have seen boxes of the banded Partagas Salomones online as well.

And I have 2 banded Partagas Salomones. Not sure what year they are from, but the bands are beautiful and nicely embossed.

But I see on the www.cubancigarwebsite.com that they appear to be released again in 2008.

AFAIK this has never been an official production. As for the unbanded from Partagas, those are not 'Partagas' cigars per se. They are rolled by La China but not sold as a Partagas brand.

Good point, but they are phenomenal cigars and are in my top 5 best Cuban smokes, even though they are not official Partagas ciagrs.

At best they are...most of the time, they're from whoever happens to be rolling them at the time, altough they'll tell you exactly what it is you want to hear. You want a Cohiba blended Salomone...by La China? Here you go. You want a Partagas Salomone by Ochun? Here you go. When you go to these places and ask for "custom" cigars you get what they give you. The story is all yours to make up. They are made with prime materials by an excellent roller, and that's about all you can be assured of unless the person there hands them to you.

There were Partagas Sals made for some anniversary a few years back. Gold extra fancy Partagas band. I`ve only seen one and smoked it. I think they made them for another commemoration. Maybe I`ve seen & smoked one of those also. A frequent poster here was the source for all these.

Sals are a favourite custom. As mentioned by Chine...: LC the house roller at the LCDH in the Partagas factory (among others in Cuba at large) roll them.

As far as I see Cuaba is the only regular production sal. Tastes like Cuaba, not my fave.

Anybody ever tried one of the Christophe Wolters Partagas Especialidad 1996 Salomones II?
Any tasting notes?
I was lucky enough to come into one a few months ago as a gift.

What did you think of the anniversary Partagas, as these are the 2 that I have?

No, but you are very lucky as these have a 99 rating. What did you think of it? Any left, care trade a Cohiba Sublime for one?

What did I think of it? I don`t recall being especially impressed. It was good smoke but nothing special comes to mind.

The ones you reference were part of the 155th Anniversary release from November, 2000.

i have a banded box of the not official habanos partagas salomons.. they very well could have been rolled by la china, comparing them to the few la china salomons i had at the time to my banded they were identical in foot, taper and the way the capa was applied with the exception of wrapper shade.. oh, they taste pretty damn good to.
