Dear Colleagues:

I recently purchased a box of RyJ Short Churchill's from my trusted B&M. The box is from 11/07. The cigars are beautiful, smell great and are well constructed. However, they are boxed pressed. I have smoked RyJ Short Churchill's before which were not boxed pressed, actually-my buddy has a box from 02/07 which are round. So, I'm confused. Is it possible that HH would completely change the design of one of their classic cigars?

Or, Do I/my buddy have a fake box? Any assistance would be appreciated.

Good question. I would venture to say that the R&J SC tends to appear box-pressed in the dress box, and especially in the 10ct. The rounded version is usually found in the A/T.

I hope that helps.

Enjoy your cigars. They should be delish.

Cheers

To my knowledge, Habanos doesn't purposely box-press any of its cigars like many NC manufacturers do. However, Habanos that come in dress boxes typically all have varying degrees of natural box press. If this is your only concern, I wouldn't worry about it at all. I have never had a 25 box on RyJ Short Churchills (only a few tubes) but would expect them the have a little box-press.

Who/What is HH?

The 25 ct dress box of these that I purchased when they were first released shows some box pressing.

Not a cause for concern in any way.

I have also had some R&J churchills that appeared a little box pressed. They came from a box of 10. I wouldn't worry about it.
