Had Partagas Series D No. 2 from 2003 this afternoon.

A very good oscuro wrapper Cuban EL from 2003.

Very tightly wrapped but a perfect draw right to the nub. Started off with a strong coco, leather and coffee bean flavor with tones of smoke.

Beautiful looking wrapper and and no veins. What a power house smoke, with an even profile right to end. Minimal spice as the smoke progressed the leather and coffee became almost over powering.

Easy 92/93. Highly recommended super robusto.

Nice review Steve. Sounds like you had a good one there. The No. 2 was one of the best EL's ever. I have never been on the Partagas bandwagon, but this one was a big time smoke.

I agree. Alot of the 2003 EL kudos went to the Hoyo Piramide and these barely got a mention back then. Now the Hoyo's have peaked and these are much better. These cigars are nowhere to be found now.

Have to agree. The D2 is one of my favorite ELs, was reasonably priced on release & rarely gets mentioned. It's 03 companion, the Hoyo Piramides, were fantastic cigars the first couple years, but now seem past their prime.

The D2's were great if you had the right batch. The D1's as well. Surprisingly flavorful for such big cigars.

Steve,

Im smoking one of these Habanos tonight after Dinner. In my opinion these Habanos will be a legend in about 2 to 3 years.

They just need a little more age, but one of the best Limitadas ever produced. Try getting your RH down to 62% with these, they will smoke much much better, for some reason the H Upmand Magnum 50 and these Partagas Serie D #2 2003 Limitadas do very well with a lower RH.

Sorry for the confusion, but I was talking about the Partagas Serie D No. 1 EL 2004.

Since the Partagas Series D #2 EL 2003 for some reason never arrived in Mexico, I think only 5 boxes were ever imported. I bought half a box at Maison du Cigare in Geneva, and left it with the in laws in Bern, I will probably smoke a couple this summer when I visit them.

They are already 5 years old, but they do have great aging potential as they are a very dense and spicy smoke. I would smoke one in a month, and then 1 or 2 a year for the next 12 to 24 years.

I recently acquired a partial box of the EL 2003 D2s(17 left). What a magical smoke, a little more refined than the D1 released EL in 2004.

Sorry to hear that your Partagas was not a that good.

I have smoked 4 of these great Partagas and each one was out standing.

Sorry man, these are fake, as your on-line source sells the infamous Trevor Cohiba Sublime for $510.

Post photos and warn everyone.

After a 10k run in the miserable rain the sun finally came out, so I decided to relax and have a Partagas Series D No. 2, and they are still amazing cigars. Pared with a Trappist la-trappe-tripel. What a great beer

Highly recommended this cigar, as long as they are not fake.
