In my opinion, too much is made of the benefits of aging cigars. To me, it's a waste of time. Smoke 'em when you get 'em, that's the way to go. I don't have anything older than December 04 in my humidor; most of my cigars are from 05, and they are smoking wondefully. I read things by Min Ron Nee talking about aging cigars, and I must laugh. Most especially, I love the ELs, and I buy up as many as I can get. The extra price is worth it for these puppies! I can never age these anyway, because I smoke them all up. Love the Hoyo Epicure EL.

I agree. Of the 100 or so Cuban cigars I have smoked in the last 3-4 years, well over half have been "young". The "young" cigars retained their tobacco-ness whereas the aged(5 or more years) had become so mild/mellow that I did not enjoy them--no kick.
Go figure.

I agree! A Cuban cigar without that ammonia and punchiness is not a Cuban cigar! My mouth gets bored with alot of the aged smokes. After I smoke a cigar I want my mouth and throat to feel like they just smoked something. That "leather tongue" effect is what I try to achieve...can't get that with aged smokes.

Hey...King Fu...try blowing the smoke out of your nose!! That seems to be the prevailing right way.

LOL!

Absolutely. And try to blow it out of your ears, too. You have to HEAR the cigar to KNOW the cigar, LOL!

I think if you like to smoke young cigars then go for it. Nothing wrong with smoking what you like. I think it is great that you are leaving the aged cigars to people like me who enjoy them....thank you.

There are plenty of people in the world who would much rather eat Spam, than a nice porterhouse.

OK, so that's a positive ID (as if there was any doubt). The never-ending quest for the last word and righteousness.

This does raise an interesting, albeit petty, point about prices and value of cigars. Some subscribe to the theory that one cigar is worth the higher price over another of similar size, construction, materials, rollers, factories, and all other factors. Others, however, realize that the QUALITY of materials in one cigar are virtually identical to the quality of materials in the higher priced cigar, and opt for one that's significantly less expensive but no less a source of enjoyment and fulfillment. Thanks for reiterating that! Excellent point!!! Bad doggy. Bad horsey. King Fu...king-fu...king-fu...king-fu...king-fu

It's Chango, a diety in a religion popular in Cuba....please don't be disrespectful. But I don't like blowing smoke out of my nose. If you like it, be my guest.
