I love the RASCCs I just got, and I think I caught the CC bug (no not tobacco beetles). I wanna order something else in the next month or so, but I'm not sure what. I was first considering robustos, but I think I want something a bit larger, though I may end up back with them. Churchills are too expesive for me right now, and I really don't want anything too thin. Any suggestions? I was thinking maybe the Mag 46 or VR Classicos... Though the classicos is kinda thin, the price seems right. Suggestions??

aj

The HDM Epi #2's are very good right now, So are the RASS. (If you go robusto)

If you like a little bolder there are some great BBF's out there too.

The Clasico is "thin?" Shows what we've come to these days. It's 42 ring gauge - the very definition of the middle of the road, the classic ring gauge. Perfect, if anything ever was.

Anyway, the Vegas Robaina Clasico is a fantastic cigar, especially for the price. For other suggestions, I'd go with the H. Upmann Magnum 46, Bolivar Corona Extra, Bolivar Belicoso Fino, Bolivar Corona, Punch Royal Selection No. 11, Sancho Panza Belicoso, Fonseca No. 1, Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure No. 1, Juan Lopez Seleccion No. 1, Punch Punch-Punch, Saint Luis Rey Serie 'A' or Diplomaticos No. 2, to name a few off the top of my head, if you're mostly aiming for "larger" than a robusto.

I meant "thin" as in comparison to the length, just seems thinner than a churchill I guess... But thank you for the recs, the JL#1s, HDM#1, and Mag 46 are lookin pretty good as far as the size I want -I think lol

CC's bring indecisiveness it seems

Yeah, the lonsdale is about 42x6, the churchill is 47x7. The lonsdale is a perfect size being quickly left behind.

Haha, there is indeed quite a bit of indecision in this hobby I've found Smile

AJ, I did not see a Boli CE on the list. This could very well be the cigar I would take with me on a desert island and be a happy camper until the rescue plane showed up.

If you want to try a couple of VR clasico's, shoot me an email, its in my profile. I have almost a full box from 01, and could send you a couple to try.

Try San Cristobal de la Habana La Fuerza. You will love that cigar.

If you like cigars strong & earthy, the Bolivar Corona Extra is smoking great. 06, 07 & 08 all nice. Or, try the Bolivar Corona Gigante for a nice Churchill sized cigar. Finally, you might enjoy the RyJ EX#3- an often over looked corona gorda size.

I had considered the 898s, but they are a tad out of the price range. Looking to spend far under 200-somethin

AJ, you may also want to consider the Montecristo Edmundos, 5 1/4 x 52, if you're looking for something a little larger than a robusto. Something almost the same size are the RyJ Short Churchills.

I just did two boxes of Hoyo churchills-fantastic

But in the size you are looking at, can't go wrong with the mag 46, Partagas D4 or Boli RC

Cheers

The RyJ is a great suggestion. These are seriously underrated.

My advice to you is to hold onto your money for at LEAST a month. In that time you should easily be able to figure out what you want. The buying environment is not so hot just now. If you give it a little more time I am sure that something big is going to pop and you will be able to get much more for your money. Patience. Smoke the crap out of those RASCCs while you wait.

IF you can't wait, there is a good price on Fonseca #1s right now, and this is a HUGELY under-rated cigar loaded with flavor. And as luck would have it, it's in your range.

Alrighty, I think I have it narrowed down to 3.

-Juan Lopez Seleccion #1 (probably JUN 08)
-Bolivar Corona Extras (probably FEB 09)
-Vegas Robiana Classicos (probably MAR 09)

I am waiting on a package from Moonlight with some of the VRCs to try (thank you!), but as far as reviews I have read the JL#1s have the lead at this point. I want something fairly full with a creamy type smoke and a nice draw is what it comes down to. Do these 3 fit that description?

aj

Prob tack on a box of cheap cubans if I can, suggestions there? I mean cheap, just to have as everydayers
