So here i was yesterday standing on the corner of 242nd st and Barnes ave in the Bronx. Funny i always wondered why people call it the Bronx. What i mean to say its not the Brooklyn or the Queens or the Manhattan. Anyways i was waiting to pick up an old friend. I had pulled up got the cell phone out and called. As usual my friend was running late. No sweat i had a three finger case with 3 RYJ short Churchill's inside.

So i go back to my car pop the center console pull one out. Cut it light it easy draw bang i got hit with a sweet almost caramel taste, that was there throughout the entire smoke.Subtle at times but always present.Thick chewy creamy this was not a strong nor mild smoke.A medium bodied cigar from start to finish. So balanced so sophisticated were the flavors . I became so engrossed in this cigar that i hardly noticed the looks i was getting. Looks like is he a cop or i guess the same look some people would give to a colored person in a white neighborhood. None the less i stood there enjoying this Quintessential smoke.

My friend came out about 30 minutes later. He said to me why you standing outside why didn't you come inside. He then said come on lets go to which i responded i am not finished. His response just toss it,to which i smiled and responded in about another 15 minutes.

I give this cigar a 90/100

Thank you for the review..

RyJ Short Churchill is my first box purchase.

Any suggestions to pair it with?
I've smoked 2 of them with Martell VSOP, but appreciate other suggestions..

Its not a terribly strong cigar so i would stay on the light side with maybe a good Rum.
I am for the most part a Bourbon,Dark or stout beer or red wine drinker.
I have smoked a few with coffee and enjoyed them very much.
Hope this helps thanks for reading my review.

I will take your advice. Probably will try a Havana Club 7.

Thank you again.

I had a few singles and then got a box of 10 with a Dec 2007 date I think. I smoked the singles and wasn't that impressed. They had a metallic taste to them almost.

After resting the box of 10 for about 6 months I tried one out last weekend and actually thought it was pretty good. Certainly much better than the singles I had. I'll be interested to try them again in a few months.

I pulled one out of a tube the other night and knocked it out. Much the same result, perfect draw, neutral yet pleasant taste, medium power, (after the first 1/2 inch) and intriguing enough to keep smoking avidly, but not so much as to make you hit the net and order 3 boxes. Much improved from initial release, and tastes like it is in the middle of a serious upswing in taste. Alot like the Edmundo in that regard.

Is this how it feels? To be harassed in all your threads? Wow, that must REALLY BE as bad as you say it is. I can really understand your point now. Those other people really are jerks. I can see how you would feel ALL YOUR THREADS ARE BEING RUINED BY ANOTHER POSTER NOW. Totally valid point.
