Well I was in vancouver the other week and stopped by a local authorized habanos dealer. To my suprise they had a box of 2004 cohiba sublimes (Box code LLN Nov 04); so i picked up 3 sticks. Also 2 sticks of the RE asia por larranaga and a monte robusto LE...

I was already a bit suspicious of the sublimes but being in an authorized dealer and sent to by the local LCDH I didnt think twice. Now at home looking at the labels and comparing it with other cohibas I am more certain they are not real..

Does anyone have nice close-ups of their sublimes? I will post some pics later on today.

Also I will be contacting the shop and telling them or reporting them to havana house (canadian distributor).

Michael

I have contacted Havana house once in the past to complain about fake habanos in a local store. They were very quick to respond and very thankful for the info. I'm not sure what if anything came out of it though.

Damn that sucks!

I saw some very interesting fakes while shopping Cancun last week. It was great to go into LCDH knowing I was getting the real thing.

I doubt it.

I'm probably missing something, but how would an Asia RE be available in Canada?

My encounters with the Canadian distributor have not helped instill any confidence in them. I emailed them a few times about the authenticity of a few sites. With every reply, they keep pushing this one site and suggest I use them instead. Well that's a nice gesture, but the site they suggested has been subject to many doubts on this forum before. It could be that the site has since become 100% legit, but I still would not trust them.

this has been happening for a few years now...

for some reason, the Asia PAcific RE's get shipped to Canada as well.. something about Havana house having a deal with the aisia importer.

people said that this year, since we got our own RE, the Asian ones wouldn't make it... but they just did..

When I get back from my bike ride I will post pics of my Sublimes around 2 or 2:30 pm.

It sucks when you cannot trust an authorized dealer.

But it would be good if you could post some pics of your SL as well, so we can do a comparison.

Why didn't you buy from the LCdH?

As for the reason Asia/Pac RE's are available in Canada, as someone mentioned, there is a reciprocal/business relationship between Havana House and PCC (Pacific Cigar Company, authorized and exclsuive destributor to the Asia/Pac region).

Havana House is owned by the Asia Pacific Cigar Co.

I've purchased from this shop before and gotten the real deal as well... no Sublimes though...
