Just sparked up a Monte Edmundo - I just box a box. Nice draw but the construction was weak. Not as tightly packed as I have had in the past. The flavor completely changed about 20% into the smoke. I'll have to put these away for a while.

2busy, can you describe flavor?
Ive been having flavour/harshness issues as per my recent discussion. I think the quick production of these are to blame. Ive had mine sit for about 8 mths. with no change in harshness. I guess ill keep waiting.

I believe the date on my box is Jul 08. The other code was EMT (not sure what that means). The cigar definitely started out harsh (compared to others I had). But, it smoothed out about 20% into the cigar. And then got harsh at the end. I would say the last box I had was a lot smoother.

I am waiting for a box of EL Sublimes and hope I don't encounter the same problem. I might also go with a box of Punch Punch.

My experience, which might not be helpful is my first original release Edmundos tasted like a weak NC. NO Monte taste whatsoever. I ignored them for a year, and now they smoke with power and MC flavor in spades. I find their construction fine, but the finishing to be lacking. very thin and splotchy wrappers, but I have minimal experience in multiple boxes. Why buy more of a vitola that has disappointed you? But given their changes recently, I have booked 2 15 packs.

The original ones were terrible- under filled and practically tasteless. Have not been inspired to buy them again.

Try the Petit Edmundo. I much prefer it to the Edmundo, but YMMV.

Nahh, the damn things put smoke right up in your face from the first light. Anything that small and thick is not good for me. And yet I can smoke any perla or minuto you give me. OK, actually I am just so CHEAP. I hate special cigars that are costly to start and then they are short as hell.

I second the Petite Edmundo, just a smaller version of the Edmundo, a short, fat, fireplug of a cigar, but nothing like the Edmundo. I have never smoked the Edmundo, but everyone says and I agree that the Petite is awesome, full-flavored, strong, emitting tons of smoke for such a little guy. Little in length, but not in width and not in power/flavor.
